First time user & I loved it

Loved the ability to do the interview, but jump to the forms to see if numbers were going where expected. I am retired CPA who did financial statements and audits, NOT taxes, but have enough knowledge to be dangerous. Felt like Turbo Tax provided plenty of built in help.

Turbo Tax Helps

Obviously I could not do my business taxes without Turbo Tax but I have an issue every time with the California Return and NOL Carry Forward. It does not do the carry forward, even though I have been using Turbo Tax for years. For some reason it just doesn't calculate or enter that properly. It always comes up in the 'Review' section and it takes me hours trying to figure out what to do

A software glitch in the Form 4562 line 10 to 13

A software problem with Form 4562 lines 10 to 13 reporting caused a lot of delay and necessitated calling the help desk for assistance which confirmed a problem that will require your IT to fix the software. This occurred when doing the error check. I should receive a credit for the time I wasted in redoing my business 1120-S.

Great for a very small business

I Learned so much about tax filing from this software that my previous accountant did not explain or care to mention. With QuickBooks and this software and a weeks worth of learning I didn't need my accountant.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Best software for the money

TurboTax is a GREAT DEAL, esp. if you have a small business and don't want to pay a small fortune to a CPA to do what this software does. AND it gets it done faster.

Buggy

Turbo Tax computed a $1 QBI credit and refused to generate the supporting forms. Then it wouldn't efile without them. I managed to fix it by deleting the forms and the credit. But it took me a while.

Turbotax business sucks for trust with a 1099-R

Turbotax business does not work well for a trust with a 1099-R, especially if the 1099-R shows tax withholding. The forums has many questions about this, so it's not just me that has trouble with this. I've been working on this for days, and I only have a 1099-INT and 1099-R to enter...

I am a long time turbo tax user and will continue using it. It would be nice if I could see the big picture during the step by step process. That would save a lot of time in correction due to double entries. I use Quick Books and transfer information. Often the program prompts entry of information which has transferred already but has not shown up yet. If it was possible to print out the transferred data and the line it was entered on it would prevent my confusion. I have the most trouble reconciling my balance sheet with the one the program generates.
