There were areas which left me confused as to how to answer. I had to Google questions in order to figure how to answer the questions. Wish there was more information available.
What's great about it: Stepped Through
What's not so great: Some areas needed more information how to answer

Major Shortfall

Many Form 1041s have extensive capital gains/losses transactions but the inability to import them from, for example, Quicken, creates a very time consuming duplication of efforts that results in unrecoverable costs.
Please provide import capabilities for 2019 Form 1041 returns.
What's great about it: No complaints about what is there.
What's not so great: Import limitations
Pros: I bought or sold investments

TTAX business for s Corp
on September 6, 2019

I found this years' TTAX for chapter S
corporations to be very disorganized compared to other years of use. If I switch from step-by-step to forms the form doesn't always match how information was entered nor how the IRS form was set up. That made it difficult to match information entered with the specific form and make sure everything was entered properly.
What's great about it: assists in making sure everything is covered
What's not so great: very disorganized compared to usual

2018 Business TurboTax
on September 14, 2019

There have been no ownership changes in my business in 25 years, and yet you ask me my Colorado tax number like it changes or is new. And you ask me how many shares my husband and I own like it changes every year. Why not show the basic info from last year and just ask if it is correct or of it changed? Why does the date for signing the taxes show an old date instead of the current date or give us the ability to enter the date? I've been using Turbo Tax for years and I like it, but I also get frustrated with it.
What's great about it: Saved most of the info from last year to save time
What's not so great: entered the wrong date on the return and didn't let me correct it to the current date before filing.

Could be so much better
on September 15, 2019

TurboTax could be so much better, but it feels as if it's on autopilot...or that the management and developers have just given up with any significant innovations. Why must the "Business" edition be a standalone product (learned the hard way the first time about 15 years ago when I took over the taxes of our tiny LLC and bought the TT Home/Business product). Why can't Business be in the cloud (as in, why must I buy either a disk or download the product)? Why did it tell me my federal and state taxes were error free, but when I went back and updated a number, I suddenly was presented with four "errors" unrelated to the change I made, then when I re-checked, I had another dozen "errors"? Seems as if these should have been caught the first time. And when I went to print out the paperwork "required by the government to complete my returns (TT's words)," I got a wacky error message: "Your forms cannot be printed. Error in converting your forms to PDF format." When I looked in the TT community forum, it turns out folks have been getting this error message for at least two freaking years! So now I'm having to hope that I chose the correct paperwork to send in to the government. But it kind of defeats the purpose of electric filing if I have to duplicate my efforts. Plus the whole thing is too pricey for tiny businesses.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: expensive, quirky, slow to update bugs

Popular for a reason!
on September 16, 2019

Excellent overall, easy to use and organization is great.
Seems like the help used to pull directly to subject within TT but now it just goes to Intuit's general online stuff and I have to start from scratch searching all over again vs. before the online help knew what section of TT I was in and took me directly to the appropriate spot.
What's great about it: Previous Year data carryover
What's not so great: online help seems to no longer link to subject

it can only import from QB or Turbotax. We use online QB and it does not accept the info.
What's great about it: straight forward
What's not so great: limited import skills
