further explanations

when at the final transmit returns I was prompted for a further explanation on form 1116 but had no clue what line 3 part a (or the like) meant, I backed out to look at the whole form. I figured out what was needed and went back thru the steps but was not asked again for the information and the return filed
What's great about it: like being able to add info
What's not so great: need more information as to what is needed

Should be able to do an individul tax return

Turbo Tax should offer a menu of the features you need, allow you to buy those, and install only one product instead of having to by two or more products to satisfy all my filing requirements.
What's not so great: Bought this product to do a trrust return and had to by an additional product to do my personal return

Estate Tax Return DONE

As a first-time executor, I was really afraid I wouldn't be able to do the estate tax return myself, but it was really easy with TurboTax for Business, so I'm sure I saved a bundle over paying an accountant for this! It would be nice if you could do the 1041 without having to buy 2 products (one for estate, one for my individual), but it was really only a minor inconvenience/expense. Overall very happy with the outcome!
What's great about it: So glad that I didn't have to hire someone to do this
What's not so great: Would have been nice to coordinate with online products

Helpful walk thru for business owners

The step by step walk-thru for entering tax information and then the review at the end gives assurance that I am approaching my tax filing correctly.
What's great about it: Reminders to include startup costs for new business venture
What's not so great: I had to get a PC to do multi-member LLC taxes (rest of business is run on a Mac)

Distributions and Equity % not transferring

It asks for distributions amounts up front, but they do not transfer to M-2 or worksheet or to Retained earnings. Also, the # of shares by owners required an override. They showed as blank even though entered properly. Probably giving up after this one.
I'm an accountant. Glad to talk to somebody about this or show someone.

Solid For My Small Corporation Return

When I first used turbo tax for business it was during the 2008 downturn. I turned to it to save $$ on my accountant to do my taxes for my small corporation. The product was a bit rough at first but has improved dramatically My taxes are cleaner and have fewer mistakes than when I used an accountant.
Suggested Improvement: add a specific tool to handle rounding issues so the balance sheet is not off by + or - 1 dollar all the time!
Small Bug: Transfer to Mass Return did not transfer other deductions.
What's great about it: You don't have to be an accountant you just have to understand numbers
What's not so great: The Final Checks are Good but tool should guide better in fixing

Simple and Easy

I've been using this program for the last 5 years and I don't plan on using anything else.
What's great about it: Walks me through step by step. Couldn't be any easier.
