[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the projector 2 weeks ago. Setup was fairly straightforward and as easy as can be expected for a short throw projector. Picture quality and color accuracy are fantastic. It runs quietly and I can not hear any fan noise if I have the volume up at a reasonable level. So far I have not had any technical issues of any type.
I have 2 small complaints. First the hdmi ARC does not support eARC, which is silly because the hardware can do it and it is just LG needing to update firmware. Second, for whatever reason LG didnt use the same webOS as is on their better TVs and so disney plus is not supported or even listed in the LG marketplace. I feel like this is an issue that could be resolved and I find it an irritating oversight in a 6 thousand dollar item.
That being said, I am very happy with the projector so far. It truly looks amazing. The sound quality was fine, better than most/all TVs by a longshot. However the low end sound is a little lacking. I chose to disable the speaker and pair the projector with a 7.1.4 soundsystem and I imagine most people will want to do the same.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love it. Fits perfectly on my wall! 9/10. However in order to be 10/10 can you answer these questions?: 1) Where is Apple Airplay 2?? 2) Dolby Vision? 3) should I buy a projector screen as my wall isn’t perfectly white and it’s not uniformly flat- if so, any recommendations?
Thx
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Performance, Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were given the chance to demo HU85LA it’s a amazing and great looking projector. If your looking for something your friends don’t have this is it.
Pre-ordered on Amazon before they removed the listing. It arrived today
As you might expect, it's incredibly sensitive to any waves at all so your screen needs to be fixed or top dollar tabbed tension.
The throw from the top of the projector to the screen is 7" - 7 1/4”.
The colors really pop, even in daylight.
The issue.... the projector doesn’t do 4K at 60hz. It only does 30hz. So it’s great if you want to watch a Blu-ray, dvd, tv, or maybe their built in apps.
Let’s say you wanted to run an Xbox one S/X or hook up your computer? Well you can certainly run your computer and entertain yourself by watching your mouse drag all over the screen and the Xbox will literally just yell at you and tell you no.
I could have bought a nicer screen but the 30hz B.S. is where I draw the line. This isn’t 2012, we’ve got 4K figured out these days. They need to do better.
Also, the speaker kind of suck but a big improvement over years past. No base. Most people will hook up a surround anyways though.
Pros: ease of use, Features/Settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the device connected to the HDMI Input Port also supports ULTRA HD Deep Color your picture may be clearer. However, if the device doesn’t support it, it may not work properly. In that case, change the Projector’s ULTRA HD Deep Color setting to [Off]. Supported Display Resolution — On: Supports 4K@60 Hz (4:4:4, 4:2:2, and 4:2:0) — Off: Supports 4K@60 Hz (4:2:0). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The spec will be great. 2700 ANSI. Wow. 4k Netflix ans so on. For those giving bad reviews and other a short reminder. 3 or 4 years ago Sony presented a UST projector. It was as large as a big chest. Price : 40 K. Now think about it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been waiting for this product to come to market. Much more affordable than Sony 4K projectors.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality
I'm seeing on multiple websites and forums that this is expected to cost around $5000, which defeats my value equation. Not worth so much. I would rather pick HU80KA for $2000 and deal with the distance.
