I don’t know much about computers but i have an older Lenovo as well and it suits me fine. I like the size and the clarity of the Thinkbook. It works well for me to view my pictures and do a little word processing as well as web searching.

Good quality exterior. Fan whines and turns on too often however BIOS cannot be adjusted to change when fan activate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have had the laptop for a month or so now. First Lenovo after 2 Dells over 14 years. I was in the market for something compact, fast, good battery life, and fairly priced, and it's met those criteria.
pros:
- screen brightness is good, able to use in a very bright room
- finger print reader is fast
- super small and light
- quick startup
- webcam shutter and kill switch are nice features
- battery life good (average use > 6 hours for me)

cons:
- wifi - sometimes has trouble automatically connecting to networks on waking up from sleep; i have to turn off and restart the wifi adapter manually and then it works fine
- sound quality is poor, less bass mainly
- track pad - wish there where physical left and right mouse buttons instead of them merged all in one
