Rugged but lack critical temperature control

After breaking two of them, I figure out that the torch is not temperature protected. It means that the torch (and its internal battery) can damage itself when it got too hot while charging!
Too bad, the rest of the torch was well design despite this major flaw.

Torch250 kept my iPhone powered to 100% all day on a multi-day kayak trip despite some pretty hungry navigation apps.

I have found that this flashlight meets the same high standards that other GoalZero products do. I have tried charging it both in the sun and using a USB port. The light works well and it works well to charge other products.

I have the Torch!!! It is by far the BEST "flashlight" I have ever owned. Bright, compact and allows me to charge my iphone. The built in solar panel is the bomb!!! One of the few solar products I can afford.
I would recommend this to a friend!

When this items first went live and was spreading viral through facebook, I quickly jumped on the chance to purchase it. I have many products by GoalZero and I have been fortunate enough to follow them as they supported efforts in New York, the Philippines, and they have even shown love for the ALS community here in Ohio by being an annual sponsor of the Iron Horse Challenge. I was assembling a camping kit for myself and the kids and thought this would work nicely. I found it do be rugged, easy to use, great for around the house and yard, and perfect for working on the car or even as a power source AND light for night bike commutes. Love the multiple was you can power it up and I've had many friends pick one up after seeing me use it. A solid product.

The lights are brighter than expected, it will actually charge from the built in solar panel (In Phoenix AZ) and it holds a charge very well. Have never used the built in crank though.

This light was a lifesaver during our last tropical storm. It is always ready to go and is so bright. Power in the Virgin Islands can be so unpredictable so it is a relief to know we will always have light.
