Auto Defrost concern

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I have had this a month and I have had 2 thaw events; 1 was my fault - I packed the bottom for shelf with ice packs which expanded against the inside shelf and forced the door open.
The other is an ongoing concern where the inside fan frosts over has failed. Since then, I have had service out, due today for the 3rd time. When the fan starts making noise, I have to open it up and use a hair dryer on the fan to melt down the build up so it keeps working. This is a circulation fan to help keep the upper part of the freezer cold.
I really hope we can resolve this because otherwise, I am excited about my new freezer. I'm stepping up from a 5 cu ft box freezer. There is alot of space. It comes with 4 shelves, 1 is a little smaller for the lower part. I have ordered extra shelves to make better use of the space, but I'm sort of picky that way. I'm looking forward to
the convenience of easier access to what I'm looking for rather than digging it out
of the box. And the door shelves will be perfect for convenience microwave items.

Unfortunately, I have not trusted it to fully use it yet because of the fan problem. I hope that changes soon or I may have to find a different model with a more effective method to deal with humidity.

Mostly good. Needed a tweak.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this in March and put in garage. Worked like a champ until summer. Turns out there was a small seal issue that was letting moist air in, leading to ice around the fan that led to performance issues. Now fixed!

It installed in a couple of minutes, literally, and has worked flawlessly ever since. I would recommend this freezer for both the price point and the dependability.
