My father, who will be 90 in a couple of weeks bought this freezer in December 2020. The first one they delivered in Jan 2021 didn't work so they took it back. The replacement, which was also delivered in Jan 2021 has had 4 service calls in 8 months. The warranty repair company that Fridigaire requires you to use, won't service it any longer because they told him it's had too many calls. Reading all of the recent reviews on this model, it's clear that Fridigaire has a quality problem with this model. I would not recommend this model to anyone

There is a defect in the fan and motor

I purchased one and the defrost at the top stopped working. I purchased another one and the same thing happened. This is a very poor quality freezer.

defective design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] On our 4th breakdown in 7 months. According to last Electrolux repairman it is a defective desighn. The fan freezes up every six weeks or so. They have put tape and putty to try to limit the condensation in the fan from freezing, but nothing works. This is the 4th time we have had to toss about $500 worth of thawed food into the trash. So far we have lost close to $3,000 with nothing to show for it. Even if a repairperson could manage to get it thawed, we can no longer trust the freezer and waste more money on thawed food. This freezer is worthless. Buying a Frigidaire freezer is a huge mistake.

Broke in less than 3 months

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this freezer to replace my 40 year old freezer (that is still working) for bigger storage from our garden. After about 3 months the freezer stopped working and the alarm kept ringing. Called for service took 2 service calls to repair as they did not have the part to in stock to fix it (service company was really great). The light is still not working not sure what to do about that. I wish I could return it. Good thing I kept my 40 year old freezer at least that still works right. Wish they still made them with that kind of quality in mind. Once the warranty service is up I will probably junk it and get something that actually works. If they even make anything like that anymore.

It's a lemon.

We've not been able to get it fixed after 4 visits from repair people over the last 3 months. As of today (October 12, 2020) it's still not fixed.

Freezer light did not work right out of the box.

I guess we will see

My wife bought me the Frigidaire upright freezer for my birthday. It was to replace our 15 year old chest freezer. So I gave my old reliable one to a buddy and wheeled in our sweet shinny new upright freezer. I transferred all the contents from the old freezer plus the supplies we bought from the large box store to get us through the tough time with shelter in place. Well it worked supper for 3 days. Then I went out the fourth morning to hear a beeping noise and a flashing light. Open the door and it's warmer than my refrigerator. I call Frigidaire and ask to have a new freezer sent before we loose all the contents of the freezer. They say NO we will send a repair guy. Nine days later he shows after two no show no call appointments. He tells me the fan motor is burnt out and will take two weeks for a new one to arrive. So here we sit with all my food spread out over 3 neighbors houses. I'm some kinda disappointed at the way Frigidaire handled this. All in all, nice freezer if it doesn't break in the first ten minutes, and good luck getting help if it does.
