Great Freezer! Does the job. Very Pleased!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this freezer a few weeks ago, and so far, so good. It's set up in our insulated garage which will sometimes get up to 80* in the summer, but not often, and it never freezes, so we should be good even though this isn't marketed as a "garage ready" model. Lots of storage with generously deep door bins. The door seal and "suction" is great, but when the freezer is empty or near empty, the unit is light enough that it can be pulled out of position when opening the door. A bit of practice and care takes care of that, but still, it was a surprise.

Very Disappointed. Defective.

Unit was defective. Compressor leaked oil. When I called helpline, told I would have to wait until the 1st week of June before replacement is delivered.

Good freezer with Modifications

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This freezer works really good after I shimmed the compressor fan. After delivery, and during the first power on the compressor fan made a lot of noise. Upon investigation by the delivery crew and myself we found that the top of the fan shroud was hitting the blades and when flexed we could get it to stop. Not wanting to wait for return and replacement. I agreed with the delivery company to try and fix., if not they would return and pick -up unit for return to Frigidaire. I fabricated a cardboard shim to place between the top of fan shroud and the freezer body. Nice and quiet now. Than bottom of the fan shroud appears to be mounted at the bottom but not the top. Really poor design. Design engineers must of had a bad day. This is my second Frigidaire freezer the other one is 20 years old and still going strong.Attached is a picture of the cardboard shim i used. One other note when the delivery guys removed the shipping tape from the top of the front door it appears to have taken off some the paint.

Door Opening, Rolling & Leveling

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While trying to open the freezer door (which is very hard to open) the freezer rolls forward, it's like the freezer is vacuum sealed shut.
I had to use both hands to open the freezer, one on the freezer cabinet and one on the freezer door, to be able to open the freezer and it not roll forward while being opened.
There are no leveling feet on the freezer (really), the freezer had an annoying little rocked from the front left side to the back right side, I used a wood shim underneath the front left to level the freezer.
The wooden shim that I made to level the freezer, I made like a cradle (see the attached photo), which not only leveled the freezer, but also eliminated the rolling issue while trying to open the freezer door, now you can open the freezer with one hand and the freezer does not roll forward while being opened.
Why didn't Frigidaire put leveling feet on the freezer like they use to, instead of these non-adjustable rolling wheels on all four corners of the freezer cabinet base. (what at genius Frigidaire thought that would be a good idea)
Adjustable feet would allow the freezer to be leveled and would also take care of the rolling issue.
I've only had this freezer for one day and after reading several of the negative reviews posted here, I'm hoping that will have a long life of trouble free use from this new Frigidaire freezer.
My other Frigidaire 17.5 Cu.Ft. freezer, I've had since 1988 with no problems.

So much room
