GE Fridge Storage Review

Closed storage areas are smaller than the previous model that I replaced with this one. Door storage is not closed at the bottom enabling things to fall through. Closed storage on the door is very small barely fits a LB of butter. The unit seems to run a lot more than the previous model. Having a full storage rack in the freezer as opposed to the half rack in the previous model seems to be more of a hindrance than a plus so far. The pull out storage drawer are also smaller and can't fit a carton of eggs in them. The unit was missing 2 screws that mount the bottom door hinge. Replacements were sent but they were the wrong size. Hoping this unit lasts as long as the previous model and wish they hadn't made the changes in the storage sizes.

This size and style were perfect for us. It looks better than a white refrigerator and is 2cubic feet better. We like the space and lighting. Totally pleased and recommended.

Why there is a hole in the door?

HI Cindyrocks - Thank you for taking the time to post a review on your new refrigerator. We are very sorry to hear you are unhappy with the sound the refrigerator makes when running. Newer model refrigerators will run 75-80% of the time. Often, the sound level seems much louder due to the fact that it is running most of the time. Even though the refrigerator is running this often, it is still far more energy efficient than older models, since much of the cost of operation occurs when the compressor starts up. If your refrigerator is cooling and freezing properly it is likely operating just as it should. If you feel the refrigerator is loud to the point that something is wrong with the unit, we would recommend having service come out to ensure all is well. Please call 1-800-432-2737 M-F 7am-10pm, Sat 8am-6pm, Sun 8am-6pm EST to schedule a service appointment during the warranty period. We wish you all the best! Vikki@GEA

The refrigerator is adequate to the task, but there is an annoying design feature. The shelves on the door have a gap that allow for small items to fall through.
