Poor Choice

So excited to buy a new refrig. Went with trusted brand, GE. WOW! What a disappointment. First, everyday, the freezer makes a very loud noise that sounds like an alien will soon pop out. Unbelievably annoying. Service man, who lost credibility the minute he walked in, told me it was a usual sound and it was the water hitting the condenser. I have owned refrigs for 40 years and NEVER have I heard this sound. To me, a very poor assessment and poor quality service. Then my life took over and I have not had time to call AGAIN. You should not have to call more than once to fix a problem with a reputable company. Also the bottom shelf design is the poorest ever. A cheap piece of glass fits atop the veggie bins, slipping into a frame. Anything that spills runs into the track around the glass. You cannot just wipe it clean, you need to remove the bins, then the frame with glass stuck to it from the bottom shelf, pry off the glass (as often it is stuck) then wash both pieces, being extremely careful not to break that glass. Never had these problem with any other refrig I purchased. So sad, my last kitchen I bought ALL GE appliances and they were great. Won't buy GE again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice refrigerator although the temperature is about 5 degrees higher that what it is set at on the controls. Energy rating could be better to make the refrigerator more efficient.
