Loud Refrigerator

Take a look at page 19 of the owner's manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000501.pdf. You'll find a list of descriptions for normal operating sounds there.
Please review that list if you discover that your refrigerator is making abnormal sounds, then we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. LOUD-One Year to the Day after Purchase

Bought it one year ago almost exactly...now it is running loud...coincidently right after the warranty is out. DON'T BUY IT.

We needed to replace our defunct 21-yr-old refrigerator. Our kitchen is small and space is limited; therefore, we measured carefully and tried to find a fridge of the same size. This was the closest we could find. It’s 3" deeper than fits comfortably in our space, has fewer features, has fewer shelves, and the refrigerator capacity is smaller than its predecessor. It keeps food appropriately cold, but the freezer temp hovers above 0°. There is no separate control for freezer temperature.

The product operation is poor because the defrost doesn't work and GE haven't yet honored the warranty.

Excellent Curb Appeal!

This refrigerator is exactly what I was looking for -- no bells and whistles, just a solid GE product. My rating of good rather than excellent stems from; a) no egg tray in the door, b) refrigerator door could use one more shelf at the bottom, and c) the door doesn't stay open where you "leave" -- it continues to swing wide without stopping (if that makes sense).
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you want to go nuts buy this. It's extremely LOUD. Our once peaceful home is no longer. I can not believe that a refrigerator in the year 2021 and at this cost would do this. Simply unacceptable. Both of us are angry to say the least.

Newer model refrigerators can have different noises than older models, because they have increased features and newer technology. There is also a description of normal sounds for the unit on page 19 of your manual.

Small in comparison to past refrigerator

The refrigerator seems to run a lot…….it runs whenever it is opened and a lot of time in between. I will need to check my electric bill to see if it is as efficient as it is supposed to be.
