Good bag but not holding up as expected

I purchased the set of this luggage to replace my old Hartman tweed duffel bag that was indestructible and still looked good after more than 25 years. The new bags are very lightweight and pretty well designed, but they are not holding up very well. I have had them about a year, I’ve already had the zipper replaced on the big one, and both the large bag and the carry-on are showing Unacceptable wear. The smaller bag even has a hole in it, and all three are showing scrapes and tears. I travel quite a bit, and these bags have been on five international trips within the past 12 months. I give them good marks on everything except that they are not going to hold up much longer. I’m sorry because I like them.

I am quite surprised with the poor quality of a Samsonite bag. The material is a cheap like fabric and placing a handle on the top of such material was not a great idea considering the bag will fall apart faster when baggage handlers pick it up as it does wear on the zipper. The interior space is not very spacious, and the zipper pull in the bottom of compartment of the bag was missing. This was actually a waste of money and especially since I purchased it for international travel. Would not recommend.
