1/3 HP great for the job, with drain stopper

We Had GE 1/3 HP garbage disposal for 24 years with no Problems. I replaced it with the same one. Easy installation. Grinds good and very Quiet. 1/3 HP capacity is more than what we need for the Job.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cheap and short lived but sufficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lasted 4 years before it shorted out? Just wouldn't power on anymore. I bought this as a replacement because my original - same model - lasted 10 years. It goes to show you how the quality has gone down hill over time. My original only died because a part rusted and broke. This new unit showed signs of rusting after just a few months. Corded unit. Sufficient for wet canned cat food and basic food items. Loud but it is a cheap, small unit. Easy to install. And easy to replace if swapping with the same unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry to hear that your garbage disposer is no longer working as expected. It's possible the reset button has been tripped or there's a shorted or broken wire connecting to the disposer. You can check to see if the turntable will move freely using a broom handle and/or check the electrical power switch, fuse box, or circuit breaker.

We recommend referring to page 12 of the owner's manual for additional troubleshooting. Here is the link:
