Sturdy, quiet, powerful garbage disposal unit

I needed a replacement garbage disposal unit for my 17 year old unit that was kaput. This garbage disposal unit as the top rated unit by Consumer Reports.. I had the unit professionally installed by a plumber - he was able to complete the entire installation in less than an hour. The unit is bigger than the unit it replaced but it is much more quieter with just a slight hum that you can barely hear above the sound of running water. It is working flawlessly and has been able to grind whatever I needed - am usually careful about what I flush down the pipes. I expect this unit to last several years given the way it is built.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a huge improvement over our old disposer. It’s powerful, quieter & does a great job, except for grapefruit peelings. They get stuck unless I cut them up very small. Otherwise it’s great!

The title says it all. This is the 2nd one. GE customer service was awesome & immediately sent another disposal. It's loud too but not as loud as the first one. I can't afford another plumber service call so I'm going to live with it.

We went bigger but was worried about the noise. But have to say its prefect and thew noise is very low. Never would have thought such a powerful machine would be as quiet as it is. great product and would totally recommended it.
