Easy Installation

Easy installation. Dropped right in to the old disposal, which was an Insinkerator, without replumbing the drain or trap. Very quiet for a 1hp disposal and much quieter then the unit it replaced which was only 4 years old.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Poor performance

I have been in this house for just over two years. In that space of time, I have had 3 garbage disposals. Not a good track record

Very Loud! it is huge and takes up a lot of space. Not impressed and hopefully GE will let us return it.

Motor failure

After about 1.5 years the motor stopped rotating or started slowly and then stopped. The chambers are clean and the flywheel is turning freely. The warranty only covers parts and the GE Appliance webpage did not provide estimates for my zip code.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quiet, powerful and extremely easy to install because instructions are clear and unit is a lot lighter than the old disposal to lift up to bottom of the sink
