This product is great! It is so quiet and quick. I have never had a disposal that worked this well. Cleaned away the food very quickly with no problems. It is so quiet that you could forget that it is even on. I love this product

I just replaced my GE GFC320F with the newer model. My other model was17 yrs and used a lot. Was very satisfied with it so bought the same model !

Lasted only 2.5 years

I changed my old device after five years of use. I bought the same brand an model, GE GFC320N, expecting to have it for another five years but it only lasted 2.5 years. I bought it again just because I am too busy to make the piping changes to replace this product for another brand. However, if this one doesn't last at least five years it will be the last product that I will buy from GE.

It is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan , life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance, even an approximate age. There are many variables involved, like: frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance (ex. high humidity; near the ocean; etc.), care, and maintenance. We apologize that this disposer did not last as long as you had expected. This updated model for the 320F I had for 15 years; seems to be just as good. Time will tell of course. Install was very easy after watching a how to video. It took me just under an hour, but if i did this regularly I'd say 30-45min install as long as pbc pipes are in good condition, which i did remove and cleaned for good measure.
Keep in mind you will have to reuse power chord from old disposal or buy new, and reuse insert ring for wiring to go through.
