May not have been the perfect choice

I liked the size and the HP [matched my previous disposal unit], but my 'professional' plumber (40+ years experience) had countless problems trying to install [mount] this particular unit. He could not understand why he was having such a hard time...once he finished, my disposal sounds 'sick'...just 'not right'
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replaced my old one that was virtually identical to this one. The previous version lasted 15 years and I hope this one does as well. They looked identical. The model number was off by one letter, but that’s just because they don’t make that exact model anymore. Love this one so far. It operates just like the old one so far.

Grinds food but Water backs up into the sink!

This product was put into a new home we built. We have been very disappointed in it's design. Water does not go down easily through the rubber gasket in the sink. It often backs up even when there is no food in the disposal. We often have to push back the rubber slits to drain the water in the sink. Simply not a great design. We have owned many GE products over the years and have liked all of them. The garbage disposal however is not one I would recommend. Sorry!

You get what you paid for

I purchased this disposer to replace the same model that was only three years old. One of the blades came off because the rotating disk on which the blade was mounted was rusted out. I did not upgrade to a higher quality disposer because I didn't want to reroute the pluming. Want make that mistake again!!
