The disposal was installed by developer. I believe the 1/2 hp disposal is to small. A 3/4 hp would have been better.
This item is noisy and sounds like it is straining to eat a lot off waste at one time. i have not had any trouble with it but I have only been in the house for two months. Let see what happens in two years..

In the few months I have used this China made disposer my real complaint is that it is very difficult to install, compared to my bigger old models.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Replacement works as advertised

Obtained this as a replacement for a 40+ year old disposal that had finally failed. Installation would have been easy if my house plumbing was in better shape. Took longer than advertised but I expected that. Removal of old disposal made me really appreciate the new mounting system. Did not have the capacity of my previous model (which GE said was the equivalent) and frankly the older one appeared sturdier/better made (but almost everything was back then) but new one works fine and can be installed by typical homeowner with a little electrical/plumbing experience.
I would recommend this to a friend!
