Good overall, quiet, easy install, but short life

This is an overall good disposal. Very easy to install, quiet and never clogged. My understanding was disposals last 8+ years on average. However, a little after two years it started leaking from the bottom (through the nut that holds the bottom cover in place). It seems like an internal gasket or seal failed. This disposal was not used heavily, so I was very disappointed that it failed so soon. But I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and replaced it with the same disposal to avoid disturbing the pipe work. Will see how the new one turns out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Seized twice after very light use within 1st year

Had this installed in our new home with septic system. Very light use perhaps once every couple of weeks for 2-3 people. When it runs its seems efficient and quiet, however it has frozen up twice within the past year. First time we couldn’t get the motor to turn using recommended methods and reviewed some YouTube videos. Hired a plumber who was surprised to learn there isn’t way to try to manually turn it (like other disposals) by using a hex wrench. Plumber ended up taking the unit apart the first time to get it to turn and reinstalled until 2 months later it’s frozen up again. Appears to be rust in the disposal. We’re about 14 months into a new home (past warranty) and this is the only item which has failed us - twice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy installation and dependable operation are the hallmarks of this inexpensive disposer. Actually flies in the face of the phrase, "you get what you pay for". You get a lot more for your money than you'd expect.

It took a couple of hours but was overall pretty easy. My first disposal, and it works great.

Make sure you dont forget the plumbers putty on the bottom of the sink side seal!
