Some more attention to detail would have helped as the drain plug allows all of the water to leak out of the sink fairly quickly. This is a great unit if you never want to fill your sink for any reason.

Hello. Thank you for your review on your new disposer. We are glad to you love most of the features offered on your new model, but regret to hear your sink is draining too quickly. The sink stopper is designed to prevent water from draining out of the sink and should be holding water. Since it is not, please check the following items:
~ Make sure the GE Appliances sink stopper is being used in conjunction with the GE Appliances splash guard.
~ Make sure the sink stopper is pushed all the way down.

It's OK, it works, nothing special, water doesn't drain very fast, seems slow and builds up when rinsing dishes

Poor useful life and power

This product was purchased and installed in January of 2014. Only 2 1/2 years later, the unit was smoking and failed.
We are not a family that dumps everything and anything down the sink; that's what a trash can is for. It is disappointing that a product with the GE label would fail so soon...'disappointing', this is not what I expected for paying the premium to have the GE logo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought it this week, received quickly, installed it. It is pretty quiet! Does a quick fast job it's designed to do. Bigger horse power than what we had too.

Decent garbage disposal

The opening at the top of this unit is more narrow than others. It is also fairly loud, despite being advertised as a quiet unit. Overall, it's a very good deal, since its reliable and very inexpensive.
I would recommend this to a friend!
