I bought it to replace another brand which worked fine but the unit had to be removed to replace the splash guard. We had owned a couple of GEs in the past and liked the way the splash guard lifts out for cleaning and inspecting the cutters.
Just purchased this disposal for my kitchen remodel. Had some of the more common disposals but were noisy, shook the sink and occasionally jammed. So since we bought all new GE kitchen appliances I thought I would round out the set with a GE brand disposal. Took a chance since the others if they jam provide a tool to spin the cutter from the bottom. But the GE disposal does not have this option. However after research, I thought I would try this one and so far it's been fine. It's a lot quitter than the other disposals and smoother in operation; so far have not been disappointed.
