Decent product

Bought this over the weekend to replace our old unit that stopped working. Very easy to install. From start to finish, less than 30 mins! Seems to work fine. It is a very quiet unit, with the only exception that it makes a "grinding" noise when you turn it on. It's no big deal for us since that last a fraction of a second. The unit that we replaced was the 1/2 HP GE unit. It was very loud and vibrates a lot even with little food waste in it. My suggestion is that you pay the $30 or so difference to get this unit. You'll be a lot happier!!!!

Easy to install once you know the trick

I just installed mine and am very happy with it. Much quieter than my last one. The trick to easy install is to not put the black cushion mount on too far up on the sink flange. If you do you will never be able to tighten down the Mounting ring. I recommend fitting it all together a couple of times before you get it under the sink.

Poor Mounting on Lock ring

Was not able to attach disposer to the lock ring 1/4 of the way for installation, as the plastic housing around the motor became detached, and interfered with the ability to lock the unit onto the ring. It was very difficult to attach it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The instruction manual is printed so small I missed a couple of important steps. I missed the wiring instruction section entirely. After installing the unit, I found the instructions after reading the manual for a third time. It would have been a lot easier to wire had I seen the instructions before installation.

Product was very hard to install. Area for wiring is very small and it was extremely hard to get the disposer to mount on the bracket
