I bought this garbage disposal about two months ago and it is operating great.
Couldn't be more pleased. I have had very good performance from several
GE appliances I have purchased--including a refrigerator that is still going after 23 years.

Easy install, but louder than previous disposal

Installation was pretty easy, even for me who had never installed one before. I did have to go get some plumber's putty suitable for my acrylic polymer sink. After installing it, though, I noticed right away that it's not nearly as quiet as my previous non-GE 3/4 hp (which had gotten leaky - probably not long after its 3 yr warranty had expired). If this one will last longer, it will win even though it is not as quiet - it's not like I run it long enough for the noise to be very bothersome.
