BLE & ANT+ compatible HR sensor
on September 18, 2015

I use the TICKR to monitor my HR while cycling. I've paired it with my iPhone 6 over Bluetooth 4.0 using the Wahoo Fitness app to analyse the workout stats post-ride. However, while riding I check my current HR along with other stats on my Count 14+ display unit (mounted on my handle bar) which is ANT+ compatible. Thus the TICKR is versatile in its ability to simultaneously communicate with any Bluetooth smartphone and any ANT+ display unit like a Garmin watch (for runners) or a bike-computer. The Wahoo app has the capability to upgrade the firmware making this hardware future-proof to advancements in connectivity and compatibility. I have been using the TICKR for over 6 months now without any technical issues and would highly recommend buying the TICKR to track your HR during your workouts.

Design needs improvement.

The Tickr has certainly been the exception to the rest of my Wahoo set up (Element Bolt, cadence, and speed sensors). I have been plagued with poor connection or no connection issues. The unit is definitely not sweat proof based on the level of corrosion observed inside the battery compartment. When changing the battery (with care) spring connector simply fell out. Currently on my second unit and still dealing with poor connection issues.

Bluetooth and Ant+

I bought this HRM so that when I ride Zwift on my Elite Direto, I can send heart rate data to both the Zwift app (via AppleTV bluetooth) and the Garmin computer (using Ant+). Because I like tracking my data everywhere. Works perfectly. The plastic housing has a little crack in it, hence the overall rating.

Reliable, Accurate and Easy to use

My wife gave me this heart rate strap for Christmas. I wanted an easy to setup, reliable and accurate heart rate monitor. This satisfies all those requirements. I am using it with the iOS wahoo fitness app. It took a few times to understand how to setup the heart rate strap with the app, but now I understand how it thinks(not complicated). So, in summary, I'm very satisfied with this product which I have been using for about one month.

Positive Indication of Operation

I have had several heart rate monitor sensors and let's face it, when your heart rate doesn't read, what indication is there that the battery is good, that sensor is sensing, that the Bluetooth signal is being transmitted, etc? the flashing LEDs on the TICKR let me know the TICKR is doing its part.
I connects to my ELEMNT and iPhone so much more reliably than any other heart rate monitor that I've had.

Sudden loss of power
on March 22, 2019

I purchased this monitor to replace the same monitor used for years without issues.
Once the new monitor, it intermittently stopped working for me just as the previous one my husband used for years without issues. Since the problem started within 30 days, Wahoo reimbursed me for the full value. I'm still disappointed that both monitors had power issues.

Idiot proof set up

I got the TICKR because I am an older rider (and non techie) and wanted to keep an eye on my heart rate. I paired the TICKR with my ELEMNT more by accident than plan in that I think i skipped a step but still managed to get it synched, indeed idiot proof. After ride data gets transferred to RWGPS so I can compare heart rate data with actual ride profiles showing me how much I have left in reserve allowing m to train harder.
