Well-designed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am delighted with this fridge! Not only does it look beautiful, but it is so well designed and such an efficient use of space. It feels like my much larger fridge! I LOVE the measure and fill feature for water since I like to cook. It is a crazy convenient time saver andonce calibrated, it is perfectly accurate! I will say that the exterior finish is sort of odd... while it is definitely fingerprint resistant compared to straight up stainless, I have other black stainless appliances that stay clean much longer. It is also unusual that magnets will adhere to the front of this fridge since they do not stick to most stainless appliances.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just got this today, and I love it! It is truly beautiful, and I am so glad I spent a little more over a "base" less expensive model/brand as it really makes my kitchen look awesome. Inside and out it looks and feels very solid and high end. I love the space, and the lighting. I also really like that the side ref. door "pockets" (or whatever you call them that hold the milk ect) can be removed separate from the metal frame. Yes, on my old ref I could also move, and remove them, but on this frig they are actually two parts and there is a handle you can lift them out of. This I can see being very useful for both cleaning, and just grabbing that draw (say with sauses in it) and putting it on the table! Im surprised this was not a "feature" shown in the manual. Likewise, there are many little things that have clearly been well thought out.
It also seems to be very very quite, which I REALLY like.
However, I have a few items I don't like so far (and thus not 5 star). Number one, and the biggest, is that they only give you 3 shelves in the refrigerator, but there are 4 slots. See my picture. You can easily use 4 and with 3 its almost like they forgot one as there is a HUGE space between two of them. Same in freezer although not nearly as bad as frig side.
Kitchen Aid - If you read these please post the part number for the glass shelf's. I cant find them anywhere with the dimensions I measure (13" x 17.5"). I will definitively be ordering one to fill the gap.
The next item is the 8 second max time for the 1 cup water flow. I have an in-house separate filter system and that feeds a line to my sink, my coffee maker, and my frig. But the pressure is MUCH less than my in-house water pressure and thus it takes me about 10 seconds to fill a 1 cup calibration glass. But as its over 8 seconds the calibration fails. DUMB...I have no problem pushing the button and walking away for a couple seconds for a glass to fill. My solution is to calibrate at 1/2 cup, and then double the output (eg specify 16 oz when I want 8)...but this a dumb engineering limit thats one variable in the software code.
Another issues good/bad is the amount of plastic covering on the frig. I guess its great as everything is brand new once its off...but man there is a lot of it (and tape as well). I do have the same issue with the expansion foam out the bottom (second picture). Also, the sides of the frig BOW out about 1/2" on each side in the middle. No big deal, but noticeable.
I am still waiting on the first batch of ice to make...so no comments there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took delivery of unit May 6, 2020. Starting mid-June it seemed that the refrigerator side wasn't chilling enough. My wife and I both commented on it. I tried troubleshooting the problem myself. Thinking it had to be a simple problem because it was a brand new unit. I finally contacted the sales rep from the store that I purchased the unit from. They contacted VIA Service. The service tech came out and diagnosed the problem to be a faulty "THERMISTER". He stated we will get the part and install it. That should fix the problem. Letting a few days go by with nobody contacting me. I reached out to VIA and they informed me that this part is on indefinite national backorder. My wife and I are both very hard-working nurses. We purchase this product because of the supposed quality reputation KA has. My wife is very unhappy. PLEASE REPLACE & THIS UNIT WITH A NEW ONE ASAP.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this lovely refrigerator since May 2020. My favorite feature is the measure-fill. The LED lighting is a bonus! The icemaker is quiet and the way it drops the ice cubes works better than any of our previous refrigerators. I also like the no-print handles.
