Buyers Remorse

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator looks beautiful and I had such high expectations given it is so expense and from a reputable manufacturer, but I wish I could find something else. Issues: 1) The drawers are a joke, you pull them out and they do not pull or close smoothly. Its like an old dresser drawer made out of wood with no rollers. You push it back in and it's crooked. Super cheap not smooth. 2) The water dispenser worked for 2 days, then just stopped after we received our brand new refrigerator. We had to call in an appliance expert and they had to replace the water filter dispenser? Apparently this happens all the time and according to them, the life expectancy on this is a couple years, so it is a guarantee that it will happen again 3) The Water & Ice levers that you push is super stiff and you have to really push or angle itr right just to make it work. 4) The water & ice levers are no labeled, so kids or anyone who does not know which is which always presses the water for ice of vice versa
I hate that I spent upwards of 3k on this refrigerator and will NEVER buy this model / brand again

Garbage

Garbage; I have owned Kitchenaid appliances for over 20 years with no problems. These new models are so poor quality. I bought this refrigerator 12 months ago and have already been serviced 5 times with major replacements! I would never buy a Kitchenaid product again.

Cheapest quality fridge brand on the market

Kitchenaid quality used to be tops... then Whirlpool bought them. And did they raise the quality of WP products to match that of KA products? Nope, they did the exact opposite and lowered KA standards to below those of WP. Unbeknownst to me when I bought this junk is that KA is now WP's bottom line, selling at top dollar as if it was somehow comparable to others that actually work. This company has nothing to offer anymore.

Looks great, works horrendously

A. Functionality issues: -water trickles out of the dispenser -water comes out warm -water doesn't come out at all sometimes -ice maker is so loud you can't even use it at nighttime as it will wake people up (I'm not being funny or exaggerating) -control panel is comprised of severely dated technology. I had to push the dispenser button 9 times yesterday before water actually came out. It's usually only 2 or 3 times. B. Cosmetic issues: -ugly yellow foam stuffed into every single nook and cranny on the entire fridge -ugly protective taping also crammed into every single nook and cranny of the fridge -the plastic on all four corners of the fridge door are damaged
It appears by reading even many of the good reviews, that nearly every single fridge sold has to be fixed. Many times right out of the box it's broken, such as mine and countless others as you will see reading through the allowed reviews.
And no, I never received a sweepstakes entry.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor quality of interior material and finish

Looks nice and works great so far. But, for a high end price pretty poor quality of the exterior and interior. Bottom cover should be stainless instead of plastic. Looks a bit cheap. Flimsy drawers, don't move in and out smoothly as you would expect from a high quality unit. Don't expect them to last long until they break. Should come with additional shelf and door bins for more flexibility and use of space. Seems to have production issues with protruded door insulation - see pictures. First unit came with bent doors, second one is better but still not what I would expect from the higher end KitchenAid brand. Quality control doesn't seem up to speed - see pictures. Overall ok but not worth the additional price to comparable products.

Stopped Working after 6 month

Stopped working after 6 month. Three different repair tech couldn't fix the problem. After hours of talking to Kitchen Aid filed a BBB complaint. problem going on 4th month and no resolution. Warranty doesn't cover any food due to defect and 3rd party extended warranty are not covered.

Horrible!

We bought this 4 months ago and have already had to replace the ice maker. In addition the ice maker freezes up and will not auto dispense. Today I had to leave the door open to defrost and bang on it because I couldn’t open the ice maker due to it freezing up. We use it frequently so no reason for freezing up and it doesn’t make ice very frequently. I do NOT recommend. We have all kitchen aid products and now we are considering a non matching brand for a fridge. Stinks!
