[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We measured and measured; compared storage and dimensions of existing "full size" refrigerator to this one a decided to take the plunge for a counter depth as it seemed it would be more proportional in size than the existing refrigerator that "stuck out". Boy, we couldn't be more pleased, storage is so much more efficient and convenient than the old (7 years) Amana/Whirlpool. Everything down to the lighting is so much better- so well planned and quality executed.The "print shield" finish is so practical - no paw prints. Detail down to display of amount of water dispensed from the exterior Ice and water is obvious example of thought put into the overall design.

GREAT REFRIGERATOR

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned this refrigerator for almost 3 months and we love it. Well thought out design and shelf utility. It's very quiet and the interior lighting is great. Best of all it is great at holding the set temperature.

Pretty But Not Practicle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the KitchenAid - 22.6 cu ft. Counter-Depth Side-by-Side Refrigerator one year ago. I absolutely love the look of this refrigerator. However, it is super small on the inside and it dents easily.

I was expecting more

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the refrigerator as part of a suite of appliances for my new home. It is working well. My only issues with it are that it seems a little cheaply made in the interior. The bins and shelving feel and look flimsy. The shelves look like plastic and it just doesn't look like a high end refrigerator should look.

Problematic from the start

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I researched, price checked, debates on going back to a side by side. I finally decided on this one! It was delivered quickly! I stocked the fridge and on day 2 I closed the door and heard a loud noise. I reopened the door and the wine rack had crashed with 4 bottles of wine on it! Thankfully nothing broke. I returned to the retailer who allowed me to compare their floor model rack to mine. We swapped shelves and wine racks but it soon became evident that it was a size issue on the interior of my refrigerator. So, they have ordered me another refrigerator. I give 3 stars because I like this refrigerator but it will go to 0 if this is not resolved Saturday with the replacement. Another day I will spend waiting and handling the swap, waiting for ice and dumping the first batch along with gallons of water. Not meeting my expectations at this or any other price point. Not to mention I could not get Kitchenaid/Whirlpool on the phone after hours of trying, multiple attempts, and finally leaving my phone number last week to never get a call back. Unacceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We've had this unit installed for about 2 weeks and are generally pleased with it. On all the KitchenAid sites I've looked at, it's indicated that this unit is supposed to have 4 shelves in both the Freezer and the Refrigerator but it only came with 3 each. Our old side by side had 4 shelves in each and one of the reasons we chose this unit was to get close to the capacity of the old one. The old one was 24.1 Cu Ft. I'm trying to get the additional shelves from the retailer.
