Love the LED lighting!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this counter depth refrigerator for our first new home in 46 years! It’s working quietly and cooling & freezing very well. I like the size of the ice cubes and enjoy the filtered water. It is quite small, however with only 4 shelves in the refrigerator door and only three in the freezer. It did not even come with an egg or butter holder as did my side by side KitchenAid of 20+ years ago! When I attempted to order another couple of shelves, they appeared to be out of stock indefinitely! I am very disappointed with this aspect.
I would recommend this to a friend!

2 units 5 visits for maintenance

This is the most unreliable appliance I have ever had in my entire life. Replaced the first unit after 2 weeks freezer did not work, second one has had 4 or 5 visits to repair. 4th of July morning refrigerator side over 60 degrees and freezer side frosted completely over.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Trouble from the start.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator and waited 6 weeks for delivery. The freezer and the ice maker stopped working after 3 months. Repaired under warranty. The refrigerator side has now stopped working and it will be 10 days before a repair technician can be dispatched. I have insulin to store! Wait time is just not acceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My prior frig was a GE, which I had for 12 years, but I'm so glad I switched to KitchenAid. To configure it better, can I buy an additional shelf for the freezer and one for the refrig side ??

I wanted to love it

We bought this fridge about a month and a half ago. We got a good price because they said it has a dent in the side, which is fine by me. But it never worked properly. Upon delivery the refrigerator side was about normal temp, but the freezer was 48 degrees after 48 hours. After the first repair attempt the refrigerator side has not been near normal since. Whirlpool/KitchenAid sent a repair person which took over a week. He just looked at it and took temperatures and said he needed to order parts. To make a long story short, yesterday was his 5th visit to attempt to fix it. Right now the freezer is 60 degrees the refrigerator is 50, and he thought he had it fixed "this time". The freezer did get down to 7 degrees before shooting back up. He is scheduled for a 6th visit next Wednesday, a week away. He said he'd do a complete overhaul.
Being tired of not having a functional refrigerator for a month and a half I went back to the store today. They did me some favors as it turned out. It's past the point of returning it but they are taking it back anyway, and giving me a good price on something else. I hate to give it up, I really like it, but it's never worked and I don't think I'd trust it to keep functioning if it was fixed. It's very difficult to be without a refrigerator for so long.
I love the LED lighting. Very bright, no shadows. It matches our other KitchenAid appliances so we wanted to keep it.
I talked to Whirlpool customer support (twice) I was told they don't replace appliances, they are repaired, no matter how long it takes. But after 5 repair visits in a month and a half I just want a functioning refrigerator.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
