Great Dishwasher

This is a really great dishwasher unit. It was included in a new home purchase and it’s very efficient. The only downside is the unit is a lot smaller then I was a custom to. But it works great and I love it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best dishwasher!

I have had dozens of dishwashers and this is far the best I’ve ever owned. It is so quiet I questioned if I even turned it on most of the time. It gets the dishes clean, and at the high temp dry even my Rubbermaid containers are dry.

Not totally bad

In summary the dishwasher is working successfully! It’s pretty quiet, seems to clean the dishes well for the quick test I have run. Now for the details.
1. Removed the dishwasher from the “skid” and large box. It was delivered in. When the skid was attached the person or machine didn’t put the feet in straight. 2 of the 4 were on an angle and difficult to remove, essentially cross threaded.
2. Routed the inlet water supply and this was somewhat challenging to connect, due to location underneath and the drip pan. No room to put a small wrench to tighten the connection. Recommendation permanently attach a 3’ braided water inlet just like you do for the waster water. Then all connections can be made efficiently, securely without potentially damaging anything underneath the dishwasher. No reason the consumer should have to add that thread on elbow reducer to a 3/8th” connection, just asking for potential leaks or damage.
3. Added the wiring, again like the water inlet, permanently add a 6’-8’ wire, offer a plug kit. If you insist to not to permanently attach a power wire then add a terminal block close to the front side and then put lugs on the separate power wires so the consumer or technician can easily attach it.
After routing power, clean water & waste water line to the garbage disposal, essentially used the exact path my last GE Profile was routed I plugged it in. Turned water on and stuck my head under to verify my connections underneath were not leaking. I proceeded to run a Normal cycle, think it was over 100 minutes! The time seems excessive as my last GE Profile from 2011 didn’t seem to run that long, but maybe it did? It didn’t have a display that told me like this one does. After the wash cycle the dishwasher started pumping the water out, and no leaks on that side so I walked away and stayed cleaning up. A little later, I heard multiple beeps, it didn’t sound like the end of the cycle, the display indicated LD. I searched the internet for LD and found Leak Detected, Level Dishwasher and Long Drain. So by process of elimination I determined no leaks, I had leveled the dishwasher so that wasn’t it, had to be long drain. As mentioned I routed the waste water exactly the same as my previous GE Profile Dishwasher. It lasted 10+ years. So pulled the unit out to make sure no kinks occurred when I pushed it under the counter, all good. I proceeded to look inside the dishwasher and noticed some water in the filter location, when I removed it I noticed the filter was dirty, looked almost like an oily yellow film was all over it along with I will say manufacturing dirt. I removed the filter, cleaned it, unplugged the dishwasher, let it sit to reset the code, plugged it in and then was able to successfully run a full cycle. Now my gripe. GE thi was not a cheap dishwasher, what happened to your QC? Why would you let this go out of the factory so dirty? I understand in the manufacturing process things get dirty, but when you run a functional test at the factory make sure at the end all debris has been cleaned, especially the oil. Maybe mine was a fluke and this just happened, I don’t know, but some other people may have thrown thier arms up, gave up and had sent it back to get another. You then will lose more money dealing with that.
Final stage after all was well with the cycle decided to install the sound insulation this took way to long, suggest at the factory attaching the insulation to the back of the kick panel, maybe use a sound absorbent foam product that fits in. It’s difficult to say the least to stuff this giant piece of insulation in when you can barley see, and you don’t want to damage the wire connection hanging there when doing it. Again this is not a cheap dishwasher will cost you and the consumer less and have more consumer purchase if it’s easier to install.
Lastly I connected the Dishwasher to the Wi-Fi, kind of over the top, but wish I did this first to see if it would have given more detail on the LD code. If so then cool, if not then just another device that potentially can be hacked and remotely disabled, beside you are probably now collating meta data when people wash dishes and will see all my metrics..

Installation was a pain...

however, the units works great! Had trouble with a competitor's comparable unit (refund in progress) -- brand new and leaking, and would not run a cycle, 4 repair tech visits, 2 units shipped, lots of wasted time on phone with support, yuk. This GE unit ran perfectly the first time, no leaks, no issues and has some great features. Not sure why all this (and other) modern dishwashers take so long to run a cycle (the shortest is 60 min), but they clean very well and, if you press the extra drying drying feature button (which adds 40+ minutes to the shortest cycle time), dry very well as well. The main reason installation was problematic is the insulation (to get the 42db rating) has to be installed
behind the kick plate. The instructions are very poor and the pieces do not fit right. Plus the outside insulation "blanket" is not attached and falls off when inserting the washer into the under-counter opening -- what a mess! To the competitor's credit, their 39db rated dishwasher does not require any insulation installation. Their install is very smooth and fast (but too many their dishwasher's are DOA!)

I am very pleased with my GE Profile dishwasher. It's very quiet and does a great job of cleaning dishes, glasses, pots and pans. Unfortunately, this is a replacement for the first one that had a problem with the door sensor.

Very quiet and the stainless finish does not show finger prints or streaks. Good tray and dish spacing with jets for flatware and wine glasses.
