Great Dishwasher

Very pleased with this dishwasher. We had a similar model in our previous home and became somewhat spoiled by it so we went with this model in our new house. It's feature rich but doesn't have what I would think would be unnecessary extras (i.e., flatware tray above the top drawer. It does a great job cleaning our dishes/utensils and is almost too quiet - I've had to check it a couple times to be sure it's running. Great readout on the front of the machine to let you know when the cycle is complete. Very happy with it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Product

I purchased this dishwasher for the food grinder in the pump and ease of starting. Push the button, close the door and it runs…simple. The fingerprint resistant stainless is a good feature. The drying cycle works very well. Overall, this is a good product.
However, it seems to me that it was built by separate engineering design groups who were only interested in their area of design. The interior layout and operation are well designed and manufactured. It is apparent that the design money was spent on updating features the customer will always see…
The plumbing and electrical connection layout is another story. This machine is not friendly to the do-it-yourself-er. If you are not aware that you need an installation kit for both the electrical and the plumbing, you will be making two trips to the hardware store. The items are not included in the purchase. I knew this when I purchased but I still had to make a trip to complete hook up.
The electrical hookup requires wiring experience in order to connect to a power source. The connection is near the rear and under the machine. Unless you know what to look for, you can miss it on the first pass. This was apparently to allow the choice of a hardwired or a plug-in connection. Since many kitchen remodels and new builds are placing plugs into the back of an under counter cabinet, this selection “choice” seems forced. A better choice would be to put a 4-6-foot plug on the back of the machine to allow it to be pulled for service.
The machine’s plumbing is similar in nature. The water supply connection is under the machine and requires a connection kit which can be found pretty much anywhere. I found it necessary to turn the machine on its side to complete the connection satisfactorily. The location of the connection is underneath, toward the front of the machine. If the machine needs service, it will still need to be pulled from its under counter location. A better choice would be to have both plumbing and discharge connections on the back side (in a chase perhaps?) like a washing machine’s setup. A retracting coil 6-foot pressure line and discharge line would allow service to the machine if needed.
Let’s talk about service. While looking at the underside of the machine, it was apparent to me that this machine is not designed to be serviced without training. With current social trends toward “right to repair” being in the news, perhaps it is time to review this machine’s ability to be repaired? All things need care from time to time...
Overall, I am pleased with the machine. It does the job. This review is written in the hopes of poking a little at the culture that did not do its homework in developing it.
Thank you.

So far so good. Our first unit lasted only about 1 year and then had issues. The one thing I miss about this unit is that the old one had the third rack for knives and this one, which is an upgrade doesn't. Otherwise, all good so far.
