Terrible glass cook top, excellent oven

We bought our range in Sep 2020. It's March 2021, and the oven is a dream, however, our glass cooktop shattered last night while cooking dinner. We've been extra careful with the glass, it was clean, no chips/scratches, and nothing wet touched the glass. We were simmering a soup, so no high heat. It cracked all the way across the cooktop, so we're mildly dissappointed.

Squeaks...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We do like the range but are disappointed with some changes...this range replaced a Whirlpool model from 2002. We do like the stove top but squeaking from the oven is most annoying. I assume the noise comes from the bottom heating element as it expands and contracts resulting in it rubbing against the enameled oven surface. Our old Whirlpool range had no such problem; why should a brand new model have this problem?
