The worst electric range I have ever had.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this range back in May along with a new dishwasher and microwave and unfortunately because I live in the desert I did not try to use my oven for 4 months. I am 83 years old and have never written a complaint in my life. When I did try to use my new range the food came out under cooked. I set my oven for 400 degrees and when it beeped and said 400 degrees on the cook top I put my food in for the 1 hour I have been cooking this recipe for over sixty years and served it to my family to find out it was not
cooked enough. I also find that the cook top gets extremely hot when the oven is set at a high temp. I would be very worried if my grand children touched it. I have had several electric ranges over the years and have never had a problem with any of them. I have had the service man here two times and he tells me that this is the way the new appliances are made. While he was here the second time I had him look at the bottom of my dishwasher and tell me what was hanging out of the bottom. He laughed and said it was the insulation that had fallen out of the bottom. He was good enough to fix it for me.

I have had Whirlpool washing machines and dryers over the years and have been very satisfied. I would never recommend Whirlpool to anyone again. I am very unhappy. The serviceman raised the temp on the oven mechanism and I have not tried it since he was here yesterday. When the range control registers 400 it should be 400 instead of 350 which my oven thermometer registered. The heat that this generates in a room is more than any other range I have ever used. If this is normal to you, I am very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
