Very happy after switching FROM a MacBookPro

Really LOVE this computer after switching BACK from a macBookPro
- I've learnt the hard way that PRO means you can get your job done as efficiently as possible. When you can't even plug in a USB device or a microSD card without a dongle it's less efficient (NOT PRO)
- The Lenovo keyboard is phenomenal, it is SO much better than MacBrookPro that you can't even compare.
- Very happy that I can upgrade my ram in the future (very fair that one slot is soldered and one is upgrade able)
This computer in hindsight:
- screen is nice but 250 nits is just enough I would prefer a little higher
- the number pad I don't use as much as I thought and the keyboard is offset / not centered so getting used to that.
- Sound could be better
I WILL BE buying another T-series or X1 series next year !
I would recommend this to a friend!

Stripped screws

If you plan on opening up this laptop for upgrade or maintenance, you need to reconsider. One of the 8 screws ended up being stuck, which inevitably leads to stripping the head.
I couldn't afford not having my laptop for repair, so I ended up damaging it.
They should really consider making ThinkPad's more friendly to users who want to customize.
Otherwise it's a nice laptop...

Purchased this with an i5-8265, 8gb RAM, 256SSD, FHD. I also purchased a Crucial 8gb SODIMM to fill the vacant ram slot. Opening up the machine is super easy. Laptop is perfect for my business. The 250nit FHD screen is perfectly serviceable, not sure why people complain. I have a C930 with 4k screen and it drains my battery. This FHD T590 has amazing batter life. I get around 8 hours doing productivity work (spreadsheets, tax returns, internet research). The keypad is a life saver, but probably only useful for accountants. As always fantastic ThinkPad keyboard and the little red dot is great when I don't have a mouse. Webcam has a privacy cover, bonus!
Very satisfied with my purchase. Really do not need the latest and greatest CPU for productivity. 8th gen was perfectly fine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is an amazing device ! I got it at a great price for the specs it has. However one downside: my model does not have the backlit keypad , which I feel every laptop should have these days. Other than the keyboard backlit , this is a fast , very sleek looking device great for students, and professionals.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Suprisingly poor quality... very disappointed

This is my 3rd thinkpad, I thought it would be great as always, but very disappointed this time, as within half month of purchase, it has 3 times black creens only showing the curser when I turned it on. I have waited thinking it might be updating but no response after a few minutes, and no notice at all except black screen. Then I have to manually force shuting down and restart it. I still have my previous thinkpad purchased 3 years ago, never had this kind of experience. It's like I got a second-hand laptop.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It is excellent laptop while with a relative low price. Very satisfied with the purchase. The only problem I found is the English version vantage is not working for battery management, I tried to uninstall and reinstall Chinese version and it is okay. So I hope Lenovo could really be careful about these "minor stuff" because it will be quite upset...
