I just received this watch and already it is exceeding my expectations— using the garmin coach feature to train for a half marathon.

I changed from the Fenix 5s to the Fenix 6s and I am happy that I can read the screen much easier. That for one is a big improvement for me. The 6s lays more comfortably on my wrist as well and the band is also more comfortable for me. I can measureably feel the upgrade. Tracking appears accurate and on point. Body Battery cracks me up but ok Garmin. So far so happy with it. If something changes or sticks out as I continue to use it I will update my review.

I think I am going to love it...eventually.

Just switched from a FitBit Blaze. I was tired of giving FitBit money every 12-18 months when my device broke, which it did every time.
I jumped all the way in with the Fenix 6. I was hoping to have a device that would last for 3-4 years or longer, so I wanted an up to date model with bells and whistles. And, I am a scientist, so I like data.
I don't usually start by reading instructions, I just take things out of the box and figure them out. That strategy did not work very well with the Fenix. Getting used to using the buttons (as opposed to a touch screen face) will be a bit challenging.
I am about a week in, and have to Google how to do things.
And, I think I will love it when I get it all figured out and comfortable with it.

Had to send back
on January 9, 2020

Opened out of box. I was unable to set up without calling tech support which was excellent. It took about 2 h to set up and then after trying the watch out I was unable to get pulse ox reading. I called back tech support and the conclusion is a faulty sensor requiring exchange of the watch for a new one.
Although I think the watch seems to be what I want so far has not met expectations.

I’ve been wanting a fitness watch and a golf watch! It’s water proof and has maps! It integrates all fitness information for all sports, eating and sleeping in one spot. Programmable for zones and vibrate alarm too! Good looking too!

Display tough to read
on January 13, 2020

I've had this watch for a couple days. So far I love the feature set - sensors, apps, widgets, case, band. It's just the display that is a struggle. Any smallish numeric or text characters are very difficult to see. Maps are a struggle to read, too. It's probably the contrast that's the problem. Size and resolution of the display are fixed, so if there were only more contrast. I've turned the backlight up to 100%, but the backlight is a dull, fuzzy blue, so it's still not easy to contrast with and distinguish the content. There weren't any Fenix 6's in local stores for me to try before I ordered the 6S Sapphire.

Could be more durable
on January 13, 2020
Posted by: Ryan126
I bought this watch about 2 weeks ago, I previously had the forerunner 235 for about 3 years. This watch has awesome features that my previous watch did not have. However, I have had the watch for 2 weeks and the rose gold tint that is around the lens already has many scratches and dents in it. The lens is suppose to be scratch proof I believe so when I bought the watch I assumed the whole watch face would also be very durable, I was unfortunately wrong. I haven’t done anything with the watch on that I would have thought would have caused these marks, just every day wear. My forerunner seemed much more durable than this watch.
