Awesome watch

Almost perfect for my needs. Having one of these is a game-changer for training. Easy to log everything and get some advanced metrics and guidance. The recommendations aren't perfect, but I use this with a handful of other apps and wearables and together they tell me what I need to know.

Great watch, but takes time to learn all features

I'm very happy with this watch - I've had it for over a year now. I purchased the Sapphire version because I mountain bike and rock climb so I want to ensure the face doesn't get scratched easily and so far, it hasn't!
All of the features definitely take time to get used to. I watched multiple videos on YouTube because initially going through everything is overwhelming.
Battery life is incredible even when using the watch for daily activities - I charge every few days.
My big gripe, is the integrated Weather app. It's very unreliable and requires the phone to be linked to use. I wish the watch could use its internal GPS to pull weather in for the area, but that likely requires incoming data...
Overall I'm happy with the watch and recommend it to anyone who wants a rugged, capable watch for outdoor use. I've used the modes for Hiking, Biking, Running, Climbing, Skiing, Golf, and Strength. The last one I recently discovered has a exercise instructions built in to explain what each activity is, in "30-minute Blast" for example, which is awesome.

The watch that does it all

Garmin has clearly put a lot of effort into making their watches durable and reliable. The GPS tracking is impressive, even in the backcountry, and it's great to have a device that can last for all day adventures. I've used it for up to 3 days in the backcountry without having to charge it once.

All the things

This watch can do pretty much anything once you figure it out. A bit of a steep learning curve but once you have it set it's great. One thing is the battery life is pretty short if you do music, GPS, etc.
Also it's great if you don't have big wrists! No was I could do the FR945 or the regular size of the Fenix. So glad Garmin made a small size.

The S is lightweight and powerful

Lov this watch! I have a lot to still learn about it but it has so many features. I have a small wrist so I got the Garmin Fenix 6S so it was smaller and it fits great! I had to get used to the weight; as it is a little bit heavier than my old Garmin 235 but after a few runs in it I was totally fine.
The only feedback I have is actually for Expert Voice - It was really hard to know which color/style I was purchasing and was pretty nervous. I didn't know if I was going to be getting the one I wanted from the product description; luckily it was the one I wanted!

Incredible Watch, Horrible App
on July 13, 2021

The watch is nearly perfect. Between the battery life, accurate tracking, and nearly any sport specific mode you could want I'm extremely happy with the watch itself and the data it provides. It is by far the best active watch I've ever owned.
But, the Garmin Connect App/Website that is used to interface with the watch is pretty bad. It often has sync issues, which in my experience made it impossible for me to input my workouts to the calendar and have them show up on the watch. I also tried using the "Garmin Coach" to help train, but I couldn't get passed the first day. The app refused to upload my runs to progress the program. After a quick look on their forums, this seems to be an issue that has been going on for a year+ with no solutions. Additionally, the "Smartwatch" features are lacking and notifications from my phone are pretty inconsistent.
Overall, this is a pricey but fantastic active watch that is a bit held back by Garmin's software.

Great fitness watch
on June 11, 2021

I love this watch really only for the fitness tracking. The notifications and everything are nice, but it really shines with the fitness tracking. I regularly go on runs and bike rides and use it to track distance and heart rate during it. The heart rate monitor isn't the most accurate but it works well during activities.
