Everything this watch does is relevant to what I need a watch to do for my outdoor activities. Tough, reliable, and handy.

Has everything but nearly misses the mark

I wear this watch everyday and I like but I always feel like its missing something. The technology is great, it has everything I want in a watch but the presentation of it falls short for me. The workout tracking is a bit clunky and difficult to use at times, especially in the middle of the workout. Presentation of notifications is limited to text only and limited in its interactions. This was a gift for me so I use it because it has everything but would I choose it if I had to buy it? I'm not sure because I don't know if there is something else out there that as this technology that I want.

I really enjoy this watch, and primarily use it to track mountain bike rides so far, but I wear it daily and also really enjoy the sleep tracking features. It's also nice how you can pull up the weather and air quality, customize the display face of the watch, and download various other "apps" to it. I didn't connect my phone/texts and calls, since I don't want to be that connected to my phone, but it was an option. I partially bought this version because of the downloadable maps, but I haven't ended up using this much on trail yet- I expect to use this more when I'm on trails in less familiar places. The face of the watch has a few scratches already- not sure how they came to be, but they're not that noticable or annoying.

Does everything I need it to and more, the surfing and paddling features are really unique in the mapping and number of strokes made, as well as speed when it comes to surfing.

The ideal sport watch

I've been using this watch for a little over a year now, and I absolutely love it. I came from an Apple Watch because I wanted something more durable and more tailored to my sports (running, climbing, hiking, skiing) that had a long lasting battery. This watch has more than fulfilled those expectations. Some features that I really love are the body battery (helps put a number to how much I have left in the tank on a long day of work or play), training status/recovery tracking (helps me understand how my body is responding to training), and the long-lasting battery, durability, and overall build of the watch. I don't have very large wrists, and I'm not fit enough to be doing activities so long that I need the extra hours of battery life of the larger models, so the 6S works great for me instead of the 6 or 6X models. I easily go a week or more between charges, even with one or two workouts a day and longer runs or hikes on the weekends. I just basically never take it off. The only thing I would want to change would be the Garmin Connect app. It has tons of information, but can be hard to navigate as a result and doesn't feel as polished as I would expect after spending so much money on a watch. It may not be the watch for everyone (especially if you don't need all the bells and whistles), but boy is it the watch for me.
