I’ve been a Lego fan for YEARS - this is the ONLY set I haven’t completed. Every time I try to combine the houses, it collapses, every.single.time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sorry to hear you’re having some difficulty with the stability of your Upside Down model. We always test and retest our toys to make sure that they’ll hold up to play when they’re built exactly as shown in the instructions. If your set ever seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You’ll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed tightly together.

Worth it

My order says it was v39 so I'm guessing it was an updated one that fixed all the problems in the other reviews. I had no missing pieces, never had to use extra pieces, and nothing fell apart. Overall I'm quite happy in this build, although I would not recommend it for someone under 14 because of the difficulty of putting on the trees. The roof snaps together perfectly. Thank you lego! I hope you make more st sets!

V39 is just a region code - we haven't updated the set or made any changes since release. As you noticed, this set is one of our trickier ones. Since it's top-heavy, every single piece has to be just in the right spot, otherwise it will come apart when trying to stand it up.

Great Set

I bought this set and knew I would love it immediately. I tried to extend the building experience over a few days. There are a lot of nice little touches thought out. Putting the trees together was a little tricky but I didn’t have any problems with any portion of the house falling apart. Once you make sure you really secure all the pieces together, its pretty solid. I would recommend getting it if you are a fan of Stranger Things and intricate lego sets.

Great Set! Must Buy For Stranger Things Fans!

As soon as I saw the teaser for this set (the pic with Dustin and the Demogorgon), I knew I wanted the set. And on the 15th when I first saw pictures of the set I was so excited. A week and a half later came my birthday and I started to build the set. It was a nice long build and I liked the level of difficulty. The had the hardest part was probably getting the roof on the first house. When I got to the upside down side I had things figured out tho. Another thing I didn't like was the part usage in some spots. Instead of just using a normal 1x4 brick. The set was designed so it was actually 3 1x4 tiles. Not that big of a deal but I feel it could've been better. The next problem I had was the stability of the trees while first building them. Before the large curved pieces held them in place, the leave would easily fall off. Those are the only 2 problems I found. Everything else is great!

Good build with some a small issue.

This is a really cool set. We had no trouble putting it together. Honestly we had no trouble with flipping it over. We did this several times. I would recommend making really sure the trees are snapped into the house well. Even the lawn chairs held on fine. mind you I really don't think this set is meant to be ( Played ) with. If I handed off to a 12 year old of course it would not last the night. the only real issue we found was the flat longer pieces were more warped then any other Lego sets we have bought this year. Not sure why this is but Lego replaced them fast and really that was the only issue. I can say this is a really cute set and it's a lot of fun to build. There seems to be plenty of pictures already posted so I won't mess with that part.

The haters are WRONG!

I recently bought this set for my family. All the bad reviews say that pieces fall off when you turn it upside down and so on. They are VERY WRONG. If you put this together right (push all the pieces down into place well) NOTHING will fall off. We have flipped out set upside down countless times and not ONE piece has ever fallen off. This is a VERY cool set and worth every penny! We’re huge horror and LEGO fans and this is by far our favorite set!! Super well designed and executed. Well done LEGO!!

The thing is is that The said has an amazing bill but the roof doesn’t wanna stay on then you try to rebuild the roof and then the other side falls off and then you try to rebuild the other side and then the other side falls off and then you just have two bases and walls of the house and they’re almost impossible to get back on and then you have to takeoff the trees and then the trees hard to takeoff and then you have to put them back on after you’re done and then it falls apart again

VERY STRESSFUL

It is a great set BUT it was so stressful and not really enjoyable to put this set together. There were missing pieces. We had to build and rebuild the trees multiple times due to unclear directions and putting the two pieces together was extremely difficult. Pieces kept falling off and nothing lined up correctly. Five minutes after it was done, the upside down roof fell off! Not stable and easily broken. Needed a lot of rework...BUT a good sense of satisfaction and pride when done. I don’t want to ever do this set again. EVER!!
