One of my favorites.

My wife wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday. I asked for a Lego set and she got me this, which automatically makes it one of my favorites since it's from her. But the build alone was wonderful. I thought it could possibly get a little tedious almost doing the same build twice, but the differences made it all so much fun. The details are great, unique building techniques, the inside is gorgeous but it's really the outside exterior that gets most of my attention. I'm a big modular building fan so when they look good like that from the outside AND the in, oh mama, I'm just so happy with this set. It looks like art. Also, take your time building it. I somehow missed a step or two or put things in the wrong place towards the end but I caught my mistake before trying to stand it up. Do it right and it will be sturdy as can be. I had it atop my desk, which I bump into often, and it never even wobbled. Very impressive architecture! The Barb posters are a hilarious, dark touch. And the Dustin minifigure is the cutest one EVER. I honestly can't think of anything to nitpick about with this build. Don't be a mouthbreather, get it!

A wonderful set to build with a partner!

My little brother and I are both fans of Stranger Things, and I'm a casual fan of LEGO. So when I found out that LEGO was releasing an official set before my brother's birthday, I knew I had to get him the set. It was an even more wonderful to find out that the set came with TWO different instructions booklet, one for each house! We split up the work in accordance of the booklets, and we bonded so much while building the set.
The set is wonderfully creative in its approach of recreating the Upside Down. The set might look a bit flimsy at first, but the way the trees are constructed and where the ball-point anchors are placed, the entire set stands up really well on its own. I've even given it a little more than gentle nudges to see if it can stay standing, and it did!
The minifigures are definitely a highlight of the set. Each minifigure is pretty accurate in detail to the characters they represent. Dustin's minifigure head lacks front teeth, reflecting the character's (and his actor's) cleidocranial dysplasia! Lucas's headpiece has camo bandana! Will has a super accurate bowlcut headpiece and I love it! And the Demogorgon minifigure has an amazing headpiece of his petal-face mouth openly roaring!
The printing and the stickers for the set are pretty faithful to the source material. There's a sticker that depict's Will's "Will the Wise" drawing, there are missing posters for Will and Barb, most of the windows have newspapers covering it. The attention to detail is great! The Upside Down portion even has the same stickers, but cleverly degraded to reflect the darker dimension's sinister nature.
Overall, this set is great to build with a partner. It's a fantastic homage to a fantastic show, and a wonderful, nerdy display piece! Kudos to the designer!
P.S. Connect the other ballpoint pieces first BEFORE connecting the trees to the set.

It’s a beautiful piece after it’s built and amazing to display. I had a small issue with the porch stand not sticking but it’s barely noticeable overall I would recommend any stranger things fans to get this set.
I would recommend this to a friend!

WHY WOULD YOU KEEP THIS CURIOSITY DOOR LOCKED?!

Firstly let me just say I wasn’t sure where the missing posters for Barb were going to go but they found their place ... I hope we find her .. she’s been gone a while now.
With that said there is just NO reason you wouldn’t want to plant this little slice of Hawkins Indiana on your coffee table. As you open the first book, and as you’re looking through the character bios , and you start to build Hopper’s truck ... all is right in the world. You KNOW for facts you could not have made a better decision. Well done you.
There are SO many unique little touches to this set that fans of the show will LOVE and the structure of the build is PHENOMENAL. I love the contrast between our world and the upside down.
You may notice the super specific build time, and should understand it is the complete season one of stranger things.. plus 2 episodes.
I could stay here all night writing about this set but I have to go.. Will hasn’t come home yet and his bike is sitting outside .. he never goes anyplace without it ... I’d better call Hop.
In closing , this set RULES.
Friends. Don’t. Lie.

I was hesitant about purchasing this set, some reviews states that it would fall apart. It is well designed and holds together very well. I was able to flip it and move it fine without all the parts holding it together.
I am disappointed that 2 pieces were missing: a bucket from bag 4 and a 2x4 blue plate from bag 7. Bag 4 had a tan peg, which wasn't in the instructions yet. Very odd. In the process of requesting pieces.

Strange Tales From The Upside Down

By far, this was my most difficult build in sheer terms of piece count and difficulty, but also my most worthwhile build to date. As I've seen all 3 seasons so far, this was a set on my wishlist for a while and once I got it, I was happy.
The only reason this doesn't get fives across the board was my own personal frustration with losing vital pieces, but thankfully LEGO support came through and I have to give them utter respect for helping me every step of the way I needed replacement pieces. By far the hardest thing for me to do was connecting everything together via support pieces on the front and back ends of the set itself and the tree supports, but once I got those in place, everything else was easy peasy. I had a strange amount of fun building this and would recommend this set to anyone either a fan of the show or looking for a good challenge to test their LEGO building skills. Again, LEGO customer support, thank you for coming through.
