A great set for fans of the show

This is all around a great set. The ability to play in both the regular world as well as the upside down is great, and the way that this theme was combined in the set makes it that much more fun.
For most of it, the buildability was fine. There are a couple of steps that required careful counting to know what to do, and there were some blind attachments, but these aren't very frequent. The pieces that attach the two houses together do require a bit of force to properly snap them into place. They need to be in the socket almost all of the way. Just a tiny sliver of them will stick out of the socket when they're properly inserted.
Playability is fine. All of the characters that are included help with that, as does the removable sheriff truck. I would have like to see some more dynamic parts of the finished build for playability, but that could just be me.
Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone that is a fan of the show and able to afford a pricier set like this.

Awesome Set

Not sure what all the fuss if about with the 1-3 star reviews re the set not holding up and pieces falling out of place with the inversion. Set holds up well for me and is a beautiful display piece. I highly recommend, especially if you're a fan of the series.

This Lego set is the coolest one I have ever built, but also one of the hardest. As soon as i saw that a house was upside down, I knew i had to get it not only as a fan of the show but also a Lego fan. The details put into both the normal house and the upside down house are amazing and really excited me. The figurines are awesome also, especially the Dustin one. It looks exactly like the actor. Building it was not that hard until i got to putting both houses together. If you make one wrong hand placement at least one thing will break and you will either have to take both halves apart and re-build it or try to put it back together while it is stuck together. It took me about 4 tries before i finally got it to not fall apart and look good, but it was worth it.

Greatest Lego set Ever!!

This set is amazing. The details inside from the movie are incredible. And the Outside details are even more amazing. This set isn't for younger kids, it's more of a collector's item. My only problem is the minifigures. Will, Mike, Dustin, The Demagorgon and Joyce are great but Hopper needs a hair piece, Lucas needs a better hair piece (Instead of that bandana, and Eleven should have her short hair. But besides that this set is a must have for anybody who loves Legos.

Love it but hate it

I love building this piece, it’s amazing but as soon I connect the houses together and connect it with the Tree - my houses fall apart - the roof won’t connect to it at all ... not sure what I'm doing wrong as I did what the instructions told me to do. It was pretty pricey for this LEGO set and I was disappointed that it didn’t even stay together :( !!! I know I’m not the only on who had this problem I mean I see others stand perfectly great :( maybe I just had a bought a bad batch :/ .. I had to take all of my pieces off and start over :( still don’t think it’ll work

Frustrating beyond belief

I have owned and put together hundreds of lego sets over the last ten years. This is the most fry of them all.
Of course there are merits to this set that are easy to see and the concept and mini figs are cool, but the set is not functional for play or display. The major problems are from the flipping feature and from the roof and front posts connected to the roof.
It doesn’t work. The posts do not stay attached especially when you flip it. The front of the roof does not sit flush with the rest of the roof and the structural rigidity is not up to legos standards. Even just as a simple display when you flip it the front posts will not stay in.
And yes I did recheck the instructions and rebuild multiple times. I spent hours on that roof.
Also when building it you add all the small details in the early stages, however when it comes to attaching the two houses the all come off due to the amount of flex in the body.
Overall I am disappointed by this one.

A fun set for a big fan.

I haven't built a lego set in many years and this was so much fun. I'm a huge fan of the show so I instantly bought this, hoping I'd be able to handle the build. It was a long process but it ultimately was totally doable. The set is very stable and I didn't end up with many missing pieces at all. I believe I only had one block that wasn't included in my pack, but it was easily replaced with other extras from previous parts of the build. All in all, I had a great time putting this together and I love having this on display.
I would recommend this to a friend!
