Sloppy design, not fun to build

I felt like this was purposefully designed to look sloppy. The opportunity exists to give it more clean lines that keep the natural look of a tree. Instead, it was designed with a jagged appearance that is not fun to build. The colors are so random that it adds complexity that is just needed. We build all the large, elaborate sets put out by Lego and have loved every one of them but this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fantastically Detailed and Beautiful Set

I saw this set in a video on Youtube and absolutely had to have it for my space at home. It took about 10 hours, laying all the pieces out methodically and taking my time to appreciate the wonderful engineering in every step of the building process. The time put into designing it is very visible throughout each piece of the tree house. I ended up purchasing an aftermarket acrylic case to display it without collecting dust, and intend to use the additional leftover leaves to decorate around the base. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a big Lego project regardless of age.

Awesome choice alternate for Creator Export

This set is fantastic. “Santa” wanted to bring my son (he’s a little guy—we work together) a Creator Expert modular building for his collection, but the Police Station wasn’t ready, so this seemed interesting because of its separate “rooms”. The build process was very intricate and very fulfilling. This set has some of the most interesting and fun details we have seen, check out the little mushrooms near the trunk... the cooling pot over the fire... the printed ship on the tiny bottle in the “bedroom”... the step “bridge” between two of the rooms. I highly recommend this set for fans of any sets that have little “stories” built within, but be ready to have some patience for strange connections such as the ones that fasten the diagonal tree trunk strips to the trunk. The leaves seem ominous but are not difficult. Biggest gripe: there are three major shades of brown—medium, dark, and extra dark—and the color are sometimes difficult to differentiate in the directions. We actually thought pieces were missing at one point while building the branches, and then realized we were just mixing up the shades of brown. Overall an awesome build and worth the price point, in my opinion.

Really hard! But fun!

I just got done building this set after a year of off an on build and let me say it is a hard! It fell apart multiple time and a lot of rebuilding was done but in the end it turned out great! I am scared to touch it but great! Wouldn’t recommend for some one under expert.

One of my favorite sets I have. Every angle of the set is unique and looks amazing when on display. Lots of intricate details as well. I’m glad lego decided to run with this idea.

I love love LOVE this set! It's difficult and detailed, and just what I need as a distraction from the real world to unwind at night. I'm not sure how long it's taken me because I'm building it at a leisurely pace on purpose. I think it will be beautiful to display when I am finished, and I would recommend this to any adult collector!
