Expansion Pack Needed

I loved this build and thought the detail in it was very cool but I couldn't give it a 5 rating because of how they planned for the "leaves". They give you all of the "leaves" to replace but you need to rebuild all of the branches in order to change out the "leaves" when you want to. I would have liked the extra brown pieces to build all of this out twice and then it can easily transition between seasons. I tried to pick a brick but not all of the bricks to do this are available.
This is otherwise a nice set but I think the branch building and not being able to build out both sets of branches for easily changing it out is a miss on Lego's part.
Maybe we will see an expansion pack in the future that allows builders to do this?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Let me start out by saying that I found this set at a yard sale…yes a yard sale. Had never been opened. So to say I was excited is an understatement…and the price!! Wooooo!! But I would also pay full price for this set bc it is so worth it. It took me 3days, on and off, to build it. It is a fun build!!! It isn’t complicated, the instructions are easy to read and navigate, the pieces are awesome and the way it all goes together is awesome!!! It’s a beautiful set as well. I did the leaves a little different-I mixed them together-(it comes with 2 sets of leaves-green ones and autumn ones)-so I mixed them up and have a more ‘the leaves are changing’ aspect…it’s not really a ‘play’ set but my son has been playing with it somewhat, the best that he can. In my opinion it’s more of a display set. But if you have been thinking of buying this set, DO IT. You will not regret it!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

A least favorite set

Honestly, remains a least favorite set.

Maybe just binning it, despite the outlandish cost & effort to order via website. Just to be free.
Didn't enjoy build much. Every brown piece looked the same in book.
Used flashlight to see tone differences.
Annoying.

Just changed the leaves for autumn.
Still had to anchor twisting/falling branches, by attaching underneath platforms.
Still can't put included characters anywhere around cabins, as platform scale = too narrow.
Still can't put anyone to sleep, as beds are rounded, to accommodate stupid Easter eggs underneath, not flat.

That's what this set feels like..."let's cram in as many cute accessories as possible, with no regard to scale, usability, or meaning."
Also, let's make the trunk into some artistic statement, with a technic-level stability build.
Then plop cabins too small for play on top.
And a bridge, without purpose or 1 single place to pose a Lego minifigure.
Let them eat cake, in the picnic area below! From the wildly out-of-scale plate, etc.
Or use the food crate winch, to haul fish & carrots directly into their toilet cabin!

Stream/water feature was a best part. Also, the bird/bird house.
Plus some of the cabin accessories...dragonfly in a jar, microscope...too bad none of the characters/people operators actually can use these things comfortably.

Overall: skip it.
Buy a technic car & a bonsai tree.
Smash them together.
Probably, Lego minifigures will feel more @ home there.
And you won't fight cabins randomly falling loose from trunk for no logical reason.
Certainly, no one's playing with or touching this set....

This is one of mine best lego sets i have gotten. I would highly recommend this set to anyone who loves lego the set price is worth the time and fun that you can get out of it. It is one of my top 3 lego sets all time

Exceptionally Sturdy build

Having made it all the way to Bag 14, past the roofs and onward to the base of the branches, everything up until this step has run smoothly. The Tree can be fully picked up and moved about by the trunk. The roofs don't actually attach but can sit comfortably and don't move too much despite being articulated. The banisters are a bit of a weak link, and can come undone with little effort and or a meager bump in the wrong direction. They can be Re-affixed quickly enough however.
Bag 14 has me a bit baffled. Whether its a misprinted clutch issue or not I cannot get past this step and will most likely spend a few hours hopefully trying to find a workable solution to get past this particular step.

Hmmm...looks like there's something a bit off earlier in the build, there! Taking it apart and doing a little rebuilding should do the trick. If you need a hand troubleshooting the build, you can always get in touch at LEGO.build/Service.

I'm not done building yet. Only as far as step 111. I cannot, for the life of me, get that piece through those holes. Seems to be lined up but must be off by a hair. Been working on just that step for over two hours. Even trying to switch out pieces with excess that I have--not working. Guess I will dismantle everything and reassemble it tomorrow. Not happy. Don't know if it's because of the new materials or not. Never had any set be so annoying--though the roller coaster came close.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you're stuck on step 111, try double-checking all the way back on steps 1-20. You'll want to make sure everything's in tip-top shape to add on the white, 15-hole Technic pieces. If they're a little bit out of place (maybe because a part isn't in the right spot, or because something's not pressed together tightly), that will make things not line up later on at step 111.

cool display. only bad thing is there is only one tree top so you have to take it apart and add on the other color of leaves

I bought this for myself and was super excited to start build and it was great until it wasn’t. Pieces do not fit together and I even took everything apart to see if I could fix it and still nothing. Very very disappointed in this
