I wanted to take a moment to share my opinions on this set because I’ve enjoyed it so much. There’s a lot of pros here, with just a few reasonable cons. Firstly, I love how the roofs are removable to each cabin. They are stable and easy to put back in place. The interior of the cabins is amazing, little details in every corner. The playability here is off the charts. It has awesome little gizmos like the winch and swing. There’s a bit of airflow where I am displaying it currently, which unexpectedly keeps the swing in motion! The sheer size of the build catches all my guests eye. It stands out among other sets and is a great conversation piece among my home decor. It also compliments the Cabin A-Frame set very well and the choice of leaf color is awesome. The biggest con is the instructions, but that’s to be expected. Nothing irredeemable, but the parts aren’t highlighted like newer LEGO sets. Dealing with two shades of brown, this could be a nightmare for someone that’s color blind or visually impaired. Thankfully they changed this shortly after releasing this set though. Hope you get to enjoy this as much as we do before it’s retired!

While we love the way this build turned out, we did have a couple issues with it. The first issue is that we are over 60+ years of age and use the "LEGO Builders App" for all of our kits that have the instructions on the app. The problem with this particular kit is doing the build itself, in that even on the app, it's hard to see where a lot of the pieces go due to the fact that the colors are green on green, brown on brown, etc. You can only zoom in on the screen, it doesn't rotate so you can see gaps, etc., and the pieces you are working on don't have the highlight. The ability to rotate and have highlighted pieces for placement would make this kit much more enjoyable to do. We did do a variety of the leave colors so that we don't have to change them out, which is definitely not as easy as suggested could be done. Living in the southeast in the U.S., we call this 'changing of the colors,' which happens every fall.
Issue #2 is that the roofs on top of the 'rooms' just don't seem to be as nice as they could be - there are fairly large spaces between the four sections of each roof, and they 'wobble,' instead of being strongly connected as one roof.

When I first started collecting Lego last year, I saw this set and, well, I didn't drool, that would be pretty weird, but my pupils definitely dilated. It was always sold out whenever I looked so I gave up for a while and finally lucked out. It's huge! And gorgeous! From EVERY single angle. I couldn't believe it. I like to change out my sets every now and then but if I was going to leave one out permanently, this would definitely be one of them. I adore every bit of it. I always wanted a tree house like this when I was a kid. This is even better as an adult. No splinters or Tetanus shots necessary!

Easily Top 3 Favorite Build

The end result is spectacular. As an adult and Lego fanatic this brings out the kid in me. The imagination that went into this is amazing. I really appreciate the fact that you have to build the base and that it is not just a flat plate.
With how happy I am with this build I did still have issues with a few pieces but will not stop me from giving a 5.
Step 31, the brown 2x4 was missing. I just replaced it with one of my own but in replace of that missing piece was an odd piece that didnt even go to the build (pic attached). Then on step 226 and 244 it calls for 3 brown 1x12 and I received 3 brown 1x10. Once completed you cant even tell the difference.

Thanks for your review! I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had some trouble with your LEGO® set. It’s unusual to have any incorrect pieces, so just in case, I’d recommend double-checking that no similar parts have been accidentally swapped. For any pieces you do end up needing, you can request replacements over at LEGO.build/BricksPieces.

Great Product

this is a great product, my kids love it they have so much imagination when it comes to the treehouse. It fits all type mini figures So you can play with and use it as a background. My kids use all the Lego mini figures like Disney the Simpsons Star Wars Flintstones and so much more. They really goes great with any minifigure. My little one set up a picnc under the tree with so much details. Hope you guys can spot all the minifigures that are there. It really is a good piece to have at the house.

Gorgeous Treehouse - Very Frustrating Build

I have been putting together advanced sets for many years and this one was the most frustrating. As I was building the trunk brown on brown it was so frustrating I had to walk away and come back to finish. Not having the red lines drawn around the pieces in the manual was a huge mistake. It made it very difficult to put together. I spent a long time trying to figure out where the pieces went and had to do a lot of rebuilding when they did not go together properly. I also noticed that this set came with pieces more cheaply made. Not as think or sturdy as past sets. More lifting of pieces once placed. I did a combination of both sets of leaves for a more full and colored look using many more leaves than what it asked for thus having less left over pieces. Once finished the set looks really nice and I am happy with the accomplishment. I would only recommend this set to those with infinite patience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear you had a frustrating time with the set. Our parts are the same as always - if you see them lifting once placed, that's probably a sign that something's a little out of alignment. That can happen if a part is out of place or if some parts aren't pressed tightly enough together. Some rebuilding should do the trick.
