Upgraded from a Gear Fit2 Pro, fitness watch before that was a FitBit. FitBit died/fell apart, & had never really given me full satisfaction. Samsung Health app paired with the Gear Fit2 Pro gave me the reports I needed. After 2 years - became more & more difficult to charge, thus my excitement over the release of the Active2.
Improvements I considered worth paying for:
Wireless charging, charging through my Note 10+, audible alarms, more features. I am still learning more about what it is capable every day.
JUST ONE negative comment... if you have continuous heart rate monitoring on - battery simply does not last. I need to recharge daily. As heart/sleep are my top 2 reasons for a fitness/smart watch, I understand the drawback to continuous monitoring. Just wish the battery stood up to this better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

the "return" button keeps failing.
the samsung pay app keeps opening and renders the watch unusable.

Battery Problems

in the past week's time, my watch's battery went from lasting a few days to a few hours. i've reset it with no luck. i think it has to be a software flaw or very intentional manufactured obsolescence. if i had known it would last me until less than a year after the warranty ended, i wouldn't have gotten it and i don't recommend you get it either, unless you like having your arm twisted into upgrading frequently.
also, it's a pain to get it to work with the google ecosystem. i never figured out how to get my google calendar reminders to show up on it. do yourself a favor and get a watch with google's wear os unless you are all in on the samsung ecosystem (idk why you would be).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The watch died after three weeks.

The watch failed after just a couple weeks. The battery is very poor and drains quickly. A very expensive lesson in value.

i love the watch, but am very disappointed in the battery life (i've gone through all the resetting steps to improve this, and it helped a little). i am also disappointed that when i researched this watch, nowhere did i read you have to have a samsung phone in order to use the ecg feature. so i paid for a watch and am basically told as an iphone user, that i have to also spend money to buy a new phone. the only reason i chose this over an apple watch was because i didn't want to spend as much.

received this as a gift so giving it a chance but so far it is leaving me flat.this product rarely stays linked to my phone even if side by side. the apps available are meh at best. at least on my watch there is no way to filter what notifications can be received so its vibrating all day long because of emails. this version i cannot answer texts or see images sent to me. i cant add dates to my calendar directly from the watch. the pedometer function is not very sensitive like my fit bit. i can’t initiate updates directly from my watch either, always says try later. the look and comfort of the watch is nice but other than that i feel that it has limited function unlike an iwatch

had the watch 9 months and the sensor fell off the back while at work. i sent it back for repair and was told it could not be fixed under warranty due to water damage. the so say water damage was probably due to sweat from when the sensor fell off and me not noticing right away! needless to say they are returning the watch not fixed. poor quality watch and will be getting a different brand for my next one.

having a smart watch is way more useful then i would've though. i just recently purchased it but fell in love instantly. yes, there are some issues like some music apps not working sometimes and messages taking a little longer to come threw but other than that it's a 10/10
