This thing dies with water, I shower with mine on and it is now stuck in a boot loop. I don't recommend using this for swimming it will kill the watch because mine died just from it going in the shower and not being submerged.

Hey there CamHod, Thank you for taking the opportunity to share your experience with using the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2. We appreciate your candor as we make every effort to improve the design and functionality of our product line. The Galaxy Watch Active2 offers a 5ATM water resistance rating, however, to prevent damage to your device we suggest the following tips: > Whenever your device gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Failure to rinse the device in fresh water and dry it as instructed may cause the device to suffer from operability or cosmetic issues. > Do not expose the device to water at high pressure. > If the device is dropped or receives an impact, the water and dust resistant features of the device may be damaged. You can also use Water Lock Mode to disable your touchscreen, wake-up gestures, and watch Always On when you're exercising in water. Apps that you download and install onto your watch can cause the watch to get stuck in a boot loop or not boot past the logo screen. Rebooting it should fix the problem, but you will need to uninstall any apps that were installed before the issue occurred. If the watch is connected to a phone, you must clear the data for the Galaxy Wearable app. If the problem continues, inspect the watch and charger for damage, and factory reset the watch. For your convenience, I have included some resources below that you can review at your leisure. Let us know if you have any questions or if you would like further assistance afterward by reaching out to Samsung Support. Thank you for being a valued Samsung customer. - Debra

Don't take this thing swimming!

Well it lasted me like 5 years so it was decent for tracking my workouts. Only when I went swimming with it once and I did the swimming activity function (it was a chlorine pool) and it was working until the end of my swimming. It just shuts off. Though I was in the pool for about an hour... I bought tools to open it and clean it, I dried it off and tried to remove any water I saw inside it but it's not turning on anymore. Why is there a swimming activity on the watch if I can't swim with it knowing that I'm not permanently damaging the watch?? I liked this watch and hoped it could lasts me 5 more years. So I'm sad now :(

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your Active2, Triii. This watch is rated 5ATM, and passed military specification (MIL-STD-810G) testing. 5ATM means that they are water resistant to up to 50 meters in depth for 10 minutes. This rating makes some Samsung watches suitable for low-velocity and shallow-water activities. I will be attaching a link that provides information on how to protect this watch while in water. If you have any further concerns or questions, please contact us at Samsung Support. -Kelvin https://www.samsung.com/au/support/mobile-devices/what-is-5atm/ smsng.us/Samsung-Support smsng.us/Warranty-Info smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger smsng.us/Twitter-Messages smsng.us/Samsung-Community

The watch after an auto update uses up battery life super fast. 8 hour work day starts at 100% and ends at 39%!!! Then, after using the swimming exercise mode, watch completely stopped working after the 3rd time in water. Only used 3x in the pool, 45 minute water aerobics class. Watch dead. Water penetrated although I did not go below recommended depths etc.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I loved my Galaxy Watch Active2. Unfortunately, the battery died. The cost to have someone else try to replace the battery is prohibitive. Purchasing a battery replacement kit, online, is less so, but no guarantee that we can replace the battery successfully, without damaging the phone and that it will even work afterwards.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this watch for about 1-1/2 years. The back has fallen off and I have glued it back on. Yesterday, Oct 14th the front of the watch loosened up while I was walking and I have been trying to super glue it back on. I have never used this watch in water. Only wear it for walking - everyday 2 - 3 miles per day.

battery sucks so it is useless. can't even use the cool watch faces because the battery will die in like an hour. i like all the functions like taking calls, getting messages, tracking sleep. the phone function work's well as the other caller can't tell i'm talking from my watch. i've heard this has a lot to do with initial charging of the watch, it needs to be cycle charged a certain way but nowhere in the literature that comes with the watch does it tell you to do so!!!
