App Issues Mar Total Happiness With It

the active2 is mostly fine. we don't like the samsung weather app - it rarely updates on its own, won't update on demand & the temp is mostly off by 4+ hrs. the new ecg function is another problem. we looked forward to it! but, to use the active2 ecg app, samsung health monitor demands we set a 2-step verif on our phones. we don't want to do that! we're senior citizens. it's hard enough to single swipe our phones open for rapid use! we can't bumble with 2-step verifs in order to use the active2 ecg app. we want to use that watch app. samsung should add a 2-step verif just for the health monitor app & its data files - not require it for the entire samsung phone's use. that's a real downside to active2 app use.

This is an excellent upgrade from the Gear Sport that I had been using for the past year or so. I already loved the Gear Sport but this watch is awesome! It already has all the great features of the Gear Sport but now I have speakers that I can answer and make calls right from the watch. I'm still trying to learn what Bixby can do to make using the watch easier. I love the new light weight design since the Gear Sport was quite heavy with the stainless steel watch face. Although the stainless steel is much sturdier than the aluminum, the new lighter style gives a more comfortable feeling wearing it every day, all day. I love the new watch band it comes with. I didn't like the band the Gear Sport came with but the Active2's band is really comfortable and soft. I actually don't want to buy a replacement band like I did with my previous watch. I love the different watch faces I can choose and I don't really need a lot of third party apps since everything I need is already on the watch. And yes, the bands are interchangeable and you can stream music with Spotify. I'm very happy with this watch.

Love my watch!

This is an update to the first review I wrote. I was having some problems with my watch battery draining before the day was up and the watch freezing up soon after I got it. The support person asked me to do a reset. I was unhappy that I was having these issues but still hopeful the reset would work. I can say the reset did work and my watch has only locked up on me one time since the reset and the battery life has been great! I am still learning everything about the watch but love it. I will be much happier when the ecg comes out. I am having irregular heart beats and this would be a great feature to have at the moment. I think this is a great watch and I am happy I invested in this one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

when i bought the galaxy watch active2 mid-june, i got it for the ecg feature which i needed due to some health concerns. i've patiently waited until it was rolled out, but now come to find out it requires a samsung phone to even use. honestly, this is extremely anti-consumer and i'm severely disappointed with samsung for this reason. on top of that, apparently june is too far back to get a refund. i'll think twice before buying a samsung product, and i'll be sure to warn all of my friends.

i have had this watch for 5 months and although it's pretty awesome as far as notifications go, the power management is very poor. they claim it lasts 2 days but recently my watch has been going from 100% to shutting off within hours after charging. i look at my watch and it shows 75% after a few hours, but then minutes later i will get a notification that i have 15% left. within ten minutes of that, it shuts off with 0% left. fyi, support had me send my active 2 back so it is getting looked at by samsung right now. after 5 months! i will not be buying a samsung watch ever again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything is great,but the battery life.

everything about this watch is smooth. from the way it looks, the way it function. everything works fine. the only con is the battery, i can go from the start of my day to the next morning with only 50%, but unfortunately the other 50% percent don't last a day...more like 4hrs....don't get it. so i have to charge the watch daily cause it won't last couple of days like advertised

Upgraded from a Gear Fit2 Pro, fitness watch before that was a FitBit. FitBit died/fell apart, & had never really given me full satisfaction. Samsung Health app paired with the Gear Fit2 Pro gave me the reports I needed. After 2 years - became more & more difficult to charge, thus my excitement over the release of the Active2. Improvements I considered worth paying for: Wireless charging, charging through my Note 10+, audible alarms, more features. I am still learning more about what it is capable every day. JUST ONE negative comment... if you have continuous heart rate monitoring on - battery simply does not last. I need to recharge daily. As heart/sleep are my top 2 reasons for a fitness/smart watch, I understand the drawback to continuous monitoring. Just wish the battery stood up to this better.

the "return" button keeps failing. the samsung pay app keeps opening and renders the watch unusable.
