Disk on back comes off after a year
on April 8, 2022
Posted by: AvgLady
this is the 2nd galaxy active watch i have owned. i am just an average person who wears the watch constantly and doesn't get it wet. after a year, in this last case a year and 9 months, the disk on the back of the watch that rests on your skin comes unglued. the first watch, i tried to glue it back on myself since the warranty was up, and i ruined the watch. now the same thing happened again to this 2nd watch. i'm done buying samsung watches.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

have been taking good care of the watch and one day the glue holding the watch face to the body came undone. screen still works but is flapping around so watch us unuseable. very disappointed in the quality and surprised that it broke in this way. suggest looking for a more reliable product.

Terrible in Water
on March 27, 2025

This thing dies with water, I shower with mine on and it is now stuck in a boot loop. I don't recommend using this for swimming it will kill the watch because mine died just from it going in the shower and not being submerged.
Response from Samsung USBy R&R TeamMarch 28, 2025
Hey there CamHod,
Thank you for taking the opportunity to share your experience with using the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2. We appreciate your candor as we make every effort to improve the design and functionality of our product line. The Galaxy Watch Active2 offers a 5ATM water resistance rating, however, to prevent damage to your device we suggest the following tips:
> Whenever your device gets wet, dry it thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth. Failure to rinse the device in fresh water and dry it as instructed may cause the device to suffer from operability or cosmetic issues.
> Do not expose the device to water at high pressure.
> If the device is dropped or receives an impact, the water and dust resistant features of the device may be damaged.
You can also use Water Lock Mode to disable your touchscreen, wake-up gestures, and watch Always On when you're exercising in water. Apps that you download and install onto your watch can cause the watch to get stuck in a boot loop or not boot past the logo screen. Rebooting it should fix the problem, but you will need to uninstall any apps that were installed before the issue occurred. If the watch is connected to a phone, you must clear the data for the Galaxy Wearable app. If the problem continues, inspect the watch and charger for damage, and factory reset the watch. For your convenience, I have included some resources below that you can review at your leisure. Let us know if you have any questions or if you would like further assistance afterward by reaching out to Samsung Support. Thank you for being a valued Samsung customer.

Not reliable
on February 14, 2021

got this in 2019 sep. used few months and then due to covid, stayed home the entire 2020 (worked from home and when going out for groceries, i usually left it home). today i found that this 'barely used' watch's screen is coming off!! i never dropped it nor used it aggressively. the bottom screen is detaching from the body and i can see glue holding the screen. i've been using galaxy watch for few years and the reason i switched to this was because my old galaxy watch simply died (lost power suddenly) after 2yrs without any reason. samsung told me to throw it away because it's out of shelf product. now this watch is detaching its own screen about 5 months out of initial 1 year warranty, very disappointed as samsung-fan.

Great watch

Have had my watch now for about 4 weeks. I love the messages I get about workout, steps per day, sleep patterns, incoming phone calls and many other features. I get at least 2 full days on single charge. Have not had any issues to complain about. Very happy. Bought a nicer watch band than the one supplied.
I would recommend this to a friend!

ALEXA on your Galaxcy Active 2 ?? YES you Can!!

This new Galaxy Active 2 watch does it all!! I’m not a fitness fanatic, so I will not comment on the accuracy of the calorie count or heart rate monitor. I'm happy to know my daily steps taken, be reminded to move when I've been sitting too long at my computer, know my ticker is still tick’n, and receive kudos when I've reached my daily goal.
First of all this is a stunning piece of technology, very sleek, and looks great on any wrist. I replaced the pale pink silicone band with a slim black leather one so it looks very sharp and professional. The Pink Gold color keeps the watch looking slim, not bulky (although the Aqua Black was intriguing), and blends well with most skin tones. I chose the 44mm for better battery life - yes, I get 3 days between charges. I also like the larger screen for easier interaction with the touch screen, which by the way is very clear, bright and easy to see even in sunlight!
LOVE LOVE LOVE, that I can receive and respond to texts and calls. I have found that the 30 foot maximum distance to my phone requirement is actually conservative, my phone has been further away from me than that and I still receive texts and calls. I work in a showroom where I cannot have my phone with me; I can now react immediately when I'm contacted. For texting, I can use voice to text and even edit my response after I have spoken it using my voice again or hand writing on the screen. There are endless emojis I can reply with and I can send and receive texted images. I can ANSWER THE WATCH, if my phone rings. There is a mic and a speaker on the Active 2, and the voice clarity is perfect. I can also reject a call right from my watch and send a text back instead, like letting the caller know that I'll call them back in a bit.
The Galaxy Active 2 also gives you detailed quality of sleep feedback. It does a great job breaking down time spent in REM vs the other sleep phases. And with the ability to fully charge in about 2 hours, every 3 days, you can absolutely wear the watch to bed every night to benefit from that useful information.
The watch is completely customize-able. You can choose what notifications you want to receive on your watch and how (vibration, sound, or both). With the Do Not Disturb feature, you can also schedule hours at night that you won’t receive any notifications at all. You can arrange the widgets in any order, add and subtract Apps, and navigate by scrolling between them or use the digital haptic bezel. The digital bezel adds a bit of class to the watch and works flawlessly. It's responsive and brings back that rotating functionality that the first Galaxy Active lacked. I have uninstalled the Apps I did not find useful to conserve battery life and added a couple, including Alexa.
YES, ALEXA!! I added the Alexa App, called "Talk to Alexa" In the companion "Galaxy Wearable" App. You can find it in the App section: Discover>Top Watch Apps>Categories>Lifestyle>Top Paid. I can ask Alexa to answer questions, things that I would typically Google on my phone, in addition to finding out the weather, set timers, and control my smart home, RIGHT FROM MY WRIST! I have tested various requests using my Active 2 vs asking Alexa in my home. The responses were identical. The first photo below is of Alexa ready to listen, and you can program her to launch when you double tap the Home button.
This is an amazing Smart Watch, get it, you won't be sorry. Now complete with Alexa, this is a perfect alternative to an Apple Smart Watch if you are an Android/Samsung phone user... I have been using it since the day of its release and it is a fun watch to use and a wonderful companion. Click below if you found my review helpful. I purchased this watch at full price and was not compensated for my review…

Great integration with Samsung phones!
on August 21, 2020

the health tracking is pretty good and the activity reminders are helpful though not necessarily the most responsive. mostly though, i love how well it is integrated with my samsung galaxy s10. notifications come through perfectly and alarms and things that would normally just be on my phone come through too, which is super cool and easy to control. i also love the versatility to respond to texts with voice or handwriting or any emoji instead of just a few responses.
definitely get a screen protector, though!! i got a scratch on the 3rd day of owning my watch, but luckily the screen protector i got hides it.
the battery life is also kinda short but i have found topping it off when i shower and/or just before bed to work perfectly. it lasts about a day and a half with a full charge.

Great watch!

I am the type of person who won't take others advice when it comes to products. Everyone has different opinions. Its better to try it out yourself. This watch is great. You can adjust the font, the screen to whatever you want. I really like it because it does not weight a lot and yet its strong.
Thin, lightweight, and swim-ready, the watch comes in aluminum with a variety of faces, bands and finishes.
