Satisfied

I needed something that I could track time with and use for workouts. Decided to pre-order this and I'm glad I did. Came with the portable also. I'd say it is a bit pricey compared to the first gen but when I got it it was pretty worth it (mainly because of the portable charger).

Underwhelming to say the least
on October 1, 2019

Honestly I'm underwhelmed. The cloud silver finish (aluminum) looks so cheap. I wish it had a mirror finish. It clashes with all of my gold and silver jewelry because the finish of the watch looks matte and cheap like it was sandblasted.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's not a BAD watch....but....
I bought this to replace a broken android watch. Everyone said that the Samsung OS was so much better than android wear. It is, and isn't. I seemed to have given up SOO much functionality by switching to Tizen while just getting a bit more peppy response. I'm perplexed why reviews prefer Tizen to Wear OS, although (to be fair) I did have some stability issues with Wear I haven't seen with Tizen in the first few days.
Want to get turn by turn directions while driving without looking at your phone? Get ready to pay for an app if you want navigation to work well (the free ones aren't great - and there is no native navigation integration for some reason). You can't even install google maps to check traffic before you leave a work meeting (because looking at your phone is rude, right?).
Want to start a Pandora song or any podcast? Want to join the upcoming Webex meeting by just tapping your watch while driving? Want to reply to a Slack or Webex Teams chat? Want to check the weather radar (for free?) Want to make a Jabber or Google Hangouts call? Too bad - pull out your phone!
Want to ask your phone a question? You'll need Bixby for that (no thanks - 6 samsung phones later I've never turned her on.)
To be clear - there is a galaxy store with watch apps and watch faces - but be sure to research the differences in the Galaxy store and the Android Play store before you purchase. To me the gap is too great. I never once said "oh I didn't know it could do that!".
Honestly the watch is great for hardware - the battery is excellent (5 stars on battery) and the display is great. I really bought it for the ECG, because of family history, but it's not there yet in software so it's vapor-ware. So I feel like I paid 300 bucks for a glorified fitness planner that will sometimes let me respond to limited notifications - the rest I have to pull out my phone.
I love my Samsung phone (and the 6 other samsung phones I've had in my life) - hopefully one day there will be a unified android watch OS, because the samsung OS seems more refined (good job devs), but lacks a TON of ecosystem partnerships and fragments development (bad job business leaders).
This could be a great watch for many people, just not for someone spoiled on their old android apps that aren't available for Tizen.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was enjoying my fitbit Versa but this smartwatch is a major upgrade. The size is so perfect for my tiny wrist.

The Best Smartwatch Out There!

To be completely honest, this is the best watch I have ever owned. I have only had it for a couple of days, but so far it has exceeded my expectations by far. The feel of the watch is great. I was worried about the size of the 44mm on my wrist, but since the watch is so slim compared to the Gear s3 Frontier, it fits pretty well without the bulkness. Also, you can answer calls on here and talk into the watch which is one of the main reasons why I switched to this one from the first galaxy watch active. The watch recharges fast with the stock charger. Last a very long time, definitely all day even if you use it a lot. I also love the touch sensitive rotating bezel. Overall, I would definitely recommend this watch. This is the watch the should have been the first galaxy watch active. But either way, worth the updgrade.

I am the type of person who won't take others advice when it comes to products. Everyone has different opinions. Its better to try it out yourself. This watch is great. You can adjust the font, the screen to whatever you want. I really like it because it does not weight a lot and yet its strong.
Thin, lightweight, and swim-ready, the watch comes in aluminum with a variety of faces, bands and finishes.

Best Smart watch in the Market

Watch 5 vs Active watch 2:
Pros of Active Watch 2:
Digital rotating bezel
Sleep tracking
Updated Running Coach
Built-in GPS
Always on display
Standalone Spotify, Tidal when connected to Wifi.
Better battery life than Watch 5
AMoled Display far brighter than watch 5.
Emergency calling SoS
Reasonable price
Cons of Active 2:
Has all the features as in Watch 5 except the Compass.
ECG inbuilt but not active for 3 months, due to FDA approval.
Pros of Apple Watch 5:
Have a new compass, always on display which is there in active 2 well.
Better integration with IoS.
Cons of Watch 5:
No sleep tracking
Expensive
Poor battery life
I own both Watch 5 and now active watch 2, this one is far superior.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don’t waste your money on this watch, it’s bad. You cannot switch out bands or stream music. I give it 1 star because you can’t rate it 0. I’m going to buy an Apple Edition Watch with a titanium case and that can change wrist bands and stream music.
