the watch suddenly stopped working less than a year. no physical damage whatsoever. i believe it's a software issue

Almost there. But not quite!

i love this watch...but the sleep function is not even close to reliable. the deep sleep function just isn't acceptable. i have 2 other smart watches that have roughly the same sleep profile. the galaxy watch active 2 doesn't come close to their respective profiles. in addition any amount of sitting such as watching tv or reading is often interpreted as sleep. this often is appended to the normal sleep cycle and can't be modified. it's this one parameter that makes me put it away and hope that someday a software update will make me say "finally it's there!"
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've owned this watch for almost a year and I am very happy with it. Bluetooth connection is strong and reconnect works perfectly. Other devices I've owned always have trouble reconnecting. There are a ton of great features I am still figuring out. Set up is easy and the health monitoring is great. The only problem is that it's large and heavy but that is to be expected with quality.
