Not worth the price

After half a year the battery gave up, since I still had warranty it was at least no issue to get this repaired. When the warranty was expired, the watch had issues to track down my activties, it either did not measured my hear frequency or did not tracked the route even though GPS was turned on. Now, not even 2 years old it stopped working at all after getting in touch with water, with having the water mode turned on. This really is disappointing for the price I paid back then...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not water resistant??

I have had this watch for 2.5 years and have loved it. However, I wore it swimming a couple weeks ago and the battery has been draining *crazy fast* - I've reset it maybe 10 times and still on the fritz. I think a watch that costs as much as this one should last longer than 2.5 years!

Greetings Brian, Thank you for finding the readily available time out of your lively day to share your sentiments with us about your Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to provide the very best products with superior functionality on the market to our customers while we remain committed to constant innovation. Our goal is for our customers to feel like they are having the most memorable experiences while using our products. Samsung provides a 12-month warranty on our products for manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, linked below. The Galaxy Watch Active2 is not impervious to dust and water damage in any situation. It is important that all compartments are closed tightly. It is water resistant based on 5ATM rating, which means submersion up to 50 meters per ISO standard 22810:2010. It also is not intended for scuba diving. You can use Water lock mode to exercise in the water. While in Water lock mode, touchscreen, wake-up gestures, and watch always on will be disabled. There are several reasons why your Galaxy Watch may be experiencing battery drain or have decreased battery life. For example, certain apps can increase battery consumption. For your convenience, I have included an article titled, "Reduced battery life on your Samsung smart watch" that contains a plethora of great information and/or troubleshooting steps. If you would like any additional assistance, do not hesitate to reach out to Samsung Support when it is convenient for you. Thank you for being a dedicated Samsung customer. - Debra
Floors are not recorded accurately. My Fitbit Versa had no problem with logging floors.

Useless Paperweight

This "fitness" watch is a mess. The heart rate sensor is a complete joke. My heart rate during a run is typically far below, 20 to 30 bpm, my heart rate when I am walking. I also never receive credit for the number of floors I climb during the day.
Additionally why does this device require so many apps to function. My Versa only ever required one app to function. And my Versa was also far more reliable. I wish I would not have tricked by Samsung's reputation for great products and the belief that an ECG would mean an even better fitness device. Especially since the ECG will probably never be activated.

Great Watch but buggy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was using the the galaxy S3 Frontier before this. I loved that one. I saw that this had the ECG feature, and thought it would be cool. When I got it, i found out that the ECG feature is not approved by the FDA, so it is unavailable. On the other hand, the watch is very buggy. It randomly starts vibrating and switching screens, like a ghost it rotating the touch dial. This goes on for minutes, then stops. I had high expectations for this. I was never let down by a Samsung product before. This is a first. I hope they fix this. But for now, this will be the last watch I pre-ordered. I will wait for the reviews. I like how you can change the bands.

MST Missing - a big disappointment
on January 13, 2020

Not gonna buy this Galaxy Watch Active2. Short Reason - NO MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission) Long Reason - I own a Gear S3, bought in 2017, was really impressed with style, battery life. Features were limited but enough at that point of time. The real fun part of owning this S3 Version is constantly surprising the retail store cashiers where those card swiping machines are old and don't have the modern NFC tech, compatible with Android pay and Apply pay. When you get ready to pay with your S3 watch, they start saying "THESE DOESN'T WORK HERE, THEY ARE NOT THE MODERN TECH ONES" and before they could finish saying that, the payment goes through and they'll be like " I DIDN'T KNOW THAT, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'M SEEING THIS GOING THROUGH" and I liked those surprises on their faces and that's where I proudly reply "THIS IS SAMSUNG PAY AND ONLY SAMSUNG CAN DO IT". I did try Galaxy active2 for a few days and I won't be able say that with the new Samsung watches including Galaxy Watch Active2 and Android Wear now supports more apps with more features. Only Gear S3 watches has this tech, so I'm holding on to this old watch. Once my Gear S3 Frontier is obsolete, I might go for Android Wear Watch unless Samsung comes back with MSD in their new watch this year.

Band size WAY TO BIG!
on August 21, 2020
Posted by: Jonelle
the band is way to big for women with smaller wrists with about 1 in of space between my wrist and the watch. the website provides no specifications of actual band size other than the 20mm width to fit into the watch. i was informed samsung doesn't offer any smaller band size and i would have to purchase another band else where. if the price we are paying for the watch includes the band that comes with it, as a future suggestion to samsung they should offer different band sizes that comes with the watch as they did in the past with their fit watches. or have the watch sold individually allowing different size bands to be purchased after so we are not spending money on a band that we will never use. unfortunately i will have to return the watch.
